Total system change is the only way forward for construction. Our Chairman, Paul Ruddick, shares his bold vision for the future of our industry in BE News, calling for a complete overhaul of construction’s broken economic model. In his words: "To resolve the acute and interrelated problems besetting construction, we must reform the economic model. We need to change the system that puts bad incentives in place for contractors to race each other to the bottom." With the collapse of ISG and record-breaking insolvency rates in our sector, it’s clear that the old ways aren’t working. At Reds10, we believe the solution lies in modernisation, starting with transforming main contractor models and embracing Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) to improve productivity, sustainability, and innovation. Let’s move forward to deliver better results for clients, communities, and the future of our industry. Read Paul’s full article: https://lnkd.in/efQgZM8i

Last week, alongside the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and British Army, we celebrated the opening of handed over 112 new sustainable bedspaces and a new drill shed at Vimy Barracks in Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire. This accommodation will support personnel students attending courses at from the Army School of Ceremonial. The two new accommodation blocks have been designed with the same innovative approach as the award-winning NetCAP buildings we've previously delivered for the Ministry of Defence. They feature two- and three-person occupancy rooms, along with separate bathrooms, drying rooms, and additional facilities like an outside boot wash. Incorporating the latest SMART building technology, these facilities optimise energy use, provide valuable data for continuous improvement, and help save energy while reducing maintenance costs. We’re proud to have played a role in delivering these new sustainable accommodation blocks, and show our continued commitment to the MOD’s Net Zero goals whilst also improving the lived experience for armed forces personnel. As we continue to celebrate National #TLevelsWeek, we’re proud to highlight how our T Level programme bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world experience. During our T Level programme, students rotate through seven different departments, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of industry roles. T Level students Callum Bride and Lamia Arnold, who recently completed their placement at Reds10, shared that this rotation provided them with valuable practical experience closely tied to their coursework. They emphasised that the blend of classroom learning and industry placement is the ideal combination for their course. Congratulations to Callum and Lamia on completing your placement, we’re proud of all your hard work and dedication!

Reds10 is proud to announce the start of works on the second of four new Single Living Accommodation (SLA) blocks at RAF Marham, celebrated with a special ceremony on site, last week. In collaboration with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and the Royal Air Force (RAF) these state-of-the-art modular blocks will provide modern, energy-efficient, and comfortable living spaces for Junior Ranks personnel. Each SLA block will include 94 en-suite single bedrooms, communal areas, kitchenettes, equipment storage, and laundry facilities. Designed with sustainability in mind, they feature air source heat pumps, photovoltaic panels, and SMART building systems to maximise energy efficiency. In addition to the SLA blocks, Reds10 has also delivered Re-deployable Accommodation Units (RAUs) to address short-term housing needs. These units, offer a flexible solution that can be relocated as needed, ensuring personnel have a place to call home while the new accommodations are being built. Phil Cook, our Defence Sector Lead, shared: "Ensuring the armed forces have modern, comfortable, and energy-efficient homes is vital for them to live and thrive. It's fantastic to see the progress at RAF Marham, delivering exceptional value and innovation through industrialised construction methods." The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO)’s award-winning Net-Zero Carbon Accommodation Programme (NetCAP) is already making huge carbon savings. Delivered by Reds10 in partnership with Landmarc Solutions, NetCAP has introduced the Defence Training Estate's (DTE) first carbon-negative buildings, achieving a 35% reduction in operational carbon and saving over 9,100 tonnes of embodied carbon. The Programme has already created over 3,900 new bedspaces to support Service personnel as they train for operations, providing modern facilities where they can clean their kits, shower, and prepare all in one place. We’re thrilled to have played a key role in transforming the Defence Training Estate, improving the lived experience for our Armed Forces while setting a new benchmark in sustainable infrastructure.
