We are proud to share that Mr Nizar Asadi نزار اسدي, consultant thoracic surgeon at Harefield, has been appointed as the new Cardiothoracic Dean for the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery in Great Britain and Ireland. This prestigious role within the SCTS Executive Committee highlights Mr Asadi's dedication to advancing cardiothoracic training and education. As Dean, he will work closely with trainees across the country, advocating for their needs and providing guidance on both personal and professional aspects of their journey. Reflecting on this new chapter, Mr Asadi said: "Training and education have always been close to my heart, and I’ve always enjoyed mentoring my trainees. Creating a new generation of cardiothoracic surgeons is really important. Without outstanding training and education, our specialty will not progress, and the quality of care will be severely compromised.
