Mega scale seaweed carbon capture

About us

Welcome to Samudra's LinkedIn page! Our name, inspired by the Sanskrit word for 'Ocean', reflects our deep connection to the marine world and our commitment to safeguarding it. At Samudra, we are pioneers in the Blue Carbon revolution, dedicated to making a significant impact on climate change by leveraging the untapped potential of the oceans. Our mission is clear: to remove 1 Giga Tonne of carbon from the atmosphere by 2033. How? By harnessing the power of advanced robotics and AI technology, and focusing on one of the ocean's most promising resources - seaweed. Research shows that seaweed can capture up to 20 times more atmospheric carbon than terrestrial plants, making it a key player in our fight against climate change. At Samudra, we believe in the power of innovation and the importance of the oceans in steering the world towards a sustainable future. Join us on our journey as we work to protect our planet, one wave at a time. Follow us for updates on our progress, insights into our technology, and stories of impact from the forefront of the Blue Carbon revolution. #BlueCarbon #Sustainability #ClimateAction #Innovation #OceanConservation

This week's 'Impact Startups to Watch' are focusing on #Maritime #Decarbonisation. The shipping industry accounts for nearly 3% of global emissions, and while maritime trade continues to grow, an exciting crew of innovators is stepping up to tackle this challenge. From smart retrofits to groundbreaking carbon capture tech, these founders are proving that cleaner oceans and greener shipping aren't just pipe dreams. Here are five startups making serious waves in maritime sustainability: Mardeca helps reduce maritime carbon emissions by offering and planning de-risked retrofits that save fuel, cut costs, and support the environment. Seabound builds carbon capture equipment for large cargo ships. Using patent-pending technology, the equipment sits adjacent to a ship's funnel and traps up to 95% of the CO2 from its exhaust. BetterSea provides a one-stop shop for maritime decarbonisation compliance. Thalasso AS is an ocean start-up committed to sustainable seaweed management, turning the sargassum problem into a solution. SamudraOceans is using robotics & AI to build scalable infrastructure for mega-scale seaweed farming at an affordable cost across the planet. #impactstartups #blueeconomy #maritimedecarbonisation
