It's very easy and human to feel overwhelmed by the climate crisis. However, our next free panel event, Vital Minds, on 27 March will bring together climate activists, a journalist, psychologist and a peace-pilgrim to explore how we can all reclaim our agency to shape hopeful futures for the environment. Chair Clover Hogan, climate activist and founder of Force of Nature will be joined by Daze A. Steffi Bednarek (FRSA) Satish Kumar and Kris De Meyer with British sign language (BSL) interpreting from Interpreting Matters Ltd. Places are free but booking is essential. https://lnkd.in/e3Ri65zz

We’re a place at King’s College London to grow ideas across art, science and health.
About us
Science Gallery London is a place to grow new ideas across art, science and health. A part of King’s College London, we’re the university’s flagship public gallery situated on King’s Guy’s Campus next to London Bridge station. As a university-based gallery, we try to spark new ways of thinking about some of the most complex contemporary challenges we face. The work we share here emerges from dialogue and collaborations between communities of artists, academics, students, young people, activists, local organisations and more. The Gallery brings together a breadth of perspectives to shape and share a programme of exhibitions, residencies, workshops, open discussions, festivals, performances and live research. Science Gallery London is part of King's Culture and the Global Science Gallery Network

'In an era where climate change headlines often inspire despair, the gallery's latest exhibition "Vital Signs: Another World is Possible" offers something different: a perspective where air, water, fire, and earth emerge as ancestors, relatives, and even deities. 'The exhibition reimagines our relationship with the natural world through a lens of kinship and sacred connections. This approach particularly resonates with me, as someone fascinated by artworks that elevate natural elements beyond mere materials to be consumed.' Read more of this fantastic review of Vital Signs, with thanks to Aayush Anima A.Vital Signs is open Wed-Sat, 11-6 and entry is free. https://lnkd.in/e4D5JGq3

Artangel, Science Gallery London at King's College London, and RADAR at Loughborough University welcome new partners Warwick Institute of Engagement at University of Warwick and Stanley Picker Gallery at Kingston University to Making Time, a development programme that supports artists to embed environmental consciousness in their practice. The programme highlights the importance of interdisciplinary knowledge and collaboration, bringing together artists, scientists and researchers. New nationwide partners are joining us to support artists as they think through and alter their practices in light of our growing understanding about the environment. Making Time launched in 2023 with artists Dr Dani Admiss, FRAUD, Rachel Pimm and Abbas Zahedi. Hear the artists discuss their experience and their research in a conversation with Mariam Zulfiqar, Director of Artangel, available to listen to at: https://bit.ly/making_time Image: Digitised drawing, ‘anything goes’ by Abbas Zahedi 2014, 2023 #MakingTime2023 #Sustainability #Environmentalism #ArtAndScience #RachelPimm #AbbasZahedi #FRAUD #DaniAdmiss

Fascinating work by Emma Critchley ⬇️ Check out some more of Emma’s brilliant work in Vital Signs:Another world is possible, our free exhibition at Science Gallery London. ‘Rights of the Deep’ is contribution to the growing Rights of Nature movement and brings together indigenous Pacific activists, legal scholars and marine scientists to co-write an open letter about our relationship with the deep-ocean and the need to protect it. https://lnkd.in/etXYmzEt Open Wednesday to Saturday, 11-6. Entry is free.
If you’re anywhere near Southampton I highly recommend a visit to the John Hansard Gallery Emma Critchley’s new solo exhibition #Soundings combines deep sea video footage of extraordinary creatures with dance & debate on deep sea mining & insights into how we map the deep in an extraordinarily powerful way. She has created space for us to connect intimately to the deep ocean. We came away with a new understanding of how the choices we make about deep sea mining affect our future…..

This beautiful mythical piece will be on display until Sunday 2 March and is a real must see.
The Quiet Enchanting, presented by Superflux working in collaboration with King's Culture, is an invitation to find hope and agency in the face of ecological disaster, to reimagine our relationship with ourselves, with each other and with the earth. Exhibited on the external facade of Bush House South West Wing on London's Strand Aldwych, The Quiet Enchanting places us in a speculative world where the surrounding city has been rewilded. The Quiet Enchanting will be on display until 2 March.
