About us

ABOUT SHAPE TO FABRICATION Shape to Fabrication has a focus on cutting-edge technology, innovative construction with applications in architecture, engineering and design. Our conference speakers and workshop hosts are shaping the future, working at the intersection of technology and design innovation, unafraid to push technology and engineering to new heights. We live in an unprecedented time. An age where buildings are moving, jewellery is printed, clothes are sprayed on, facades are folded by robots and cars are made of textile. We are proud to present to you the first to use such pioneering technologies to create these magical experiences. Discover the latest approaches in digital fabrication and computational design from an international panel of presenters – Architects / Engineers / Fabricators / Artists. THE CONFERENCE The Shape to Fabrication conference takes place over 2-days, usually every two years. The first iteration of the conference was held in 2003 at Unto This Last and was called 'Rhino in Architecture'. In 2007 the name 'Shape to Fabrication' was born and the second iteration of the conference took place at Metropolitan Works. Since then the conference has grown alongside the Shape to Fabrication community and the most recent conference took place in 2023 at the University of Westminster, London. THE PRESENT The 8th iteration of Shape to Fabrication took place in April 2023. Shape to Fabrication is biennial, therefore the next full conference and workshops will happen in 2025. HOW TO TAKE PART? Visit the Shape to Fabrication website for all the latest news, information, and contacts for the Shape to Fabrication organisers, Simply Rhino Limited.
