Successful completion last night of the light show for Oakham School Leavers Ball 2024. Thanks for inviting us @Oakham School and Samantha Rowntree for all your assistance in making this happen. The pressing issue now is getting all the kit back to Edinburgh. Notwithstanding the helpful advice from my pal Craig McIntyre regarding getting a larger car following my 'Bags are Packed' post for the southbound journey, I've learned that the solution is simply to pack the car better! And in this instance I also have 50+ of our Pixel drones from our partner Light Dynamix Ltd on board! 🎶….All my bags are packed, I’m ready to go….🎼 Well, not quite ‘Leavin’ on a Jet Plane’ (for those of a certain age who might remember the tune…) rather heading south from Edinburgh tomorrow to fly rehearsals and prepare for our next light show on Saturday the 29th June at Oakham School for the 2024 Leavers Ball. Thank goodness the Pixel drones are with our partners Light Dynamix Ltd in Lincoln - no way 100 of them will fit in the back! Back to the beginning Took the opportunity this week to bring our original R&D Fleet of drones - SkyFire - out of 'mothballs' and, whilst testing a new landing pad layout system, get them airborne at Broadmeadows in the wonderful Moffat Valley close to Selkirk. Great to talk to a number of RAF squadrons who enquired about our schedule owing to our extant NOTAM. Use of this amazing estate was facilitated by Tom Williams who was also able to fly his first sorties as an approved Remote Pilot for SkyShows Aerial. Following some great flying we took the chance to explore the estate too - sadly we didn't fully account for the recent extreme rain.
