👏 What a show! | Reflecting on an inspiring #ScotHot2025 We’re leaving ScotHot feeling energised and more determined than ever to make good food the easy choice for everyone in Scotland. 💬 We had brilliant conversations with suppliers, caterers, and partners – all committed to: 🥕 Putting fresh, local produce at the heart of menus 🌍 Supporting Scottish farmers and reducing food miles 🍽️ Creating meals that nourish both people & planet 🏆 The Food for Life Competition Class was a particular highlight – showcasing chefs who proved that sustainability and creativity go hand in hand. Participants came from across the board of public sector catering: BaxterStorey Glasgow Caledonian University Renfrewshire Council Dynamic Earth Stirling Council NHS Borders But this is just the beginning. We are thrilled Give Peas a Chance! 🫛 pilot project has received the Yummy award for Best Local Initiative Championing Children's Healthy Food at the Childrens Food summit 2025! 🎉 This project is a collaboration between Soil Association Scotland, Aberdeen City Council - City Development & Regeneration, The Royal Highland Education Trust, Royal Northern Countryside Initiative, and farmer Phil Swire, and funded by Sustain: The alliance for better food and farming's Bridging the Gap programme. The judges loved the project’s innovation, as well as its integration of sustainability into school meals, and potential for wider replication. Well done to all involved!
