With increasing focus on the diverse learning needs of students, many schools are now facing the challenge of understanding how to effectively support those with additional learning needs across different age ranges and cognitive levels. As the landscape of education evolves, it's crucial to explore how individuals with varying Learning Disabilities can thrive within school environments. Our course equips educators with the tools to support students with diverse learning needs, including autism, PMLD, SEMH, Down syndrome, and MSI. By exploring these areas, we aim to provide strategies and approaches that empower educators to better support and respond to the unique needs of these students. Continuing from my last post, I love seeing ideas we are all able to create that are free……simple sensory stimulation Ideas🤍 love this clip🤍 As I shared before, sensory stimulation is vital for young people with additional needs, and it doesn’t have to cost a thing! These are a few free, effective ways to engage the senses: 💡Explore nature: Leaves, grass, tree bark, and puddles offer rich sensory experiences. 💡DIY sensory bottles: Fill empty bottles with water, glitter, or rice for calming visuals and sounds. 💡Tactile fun at home: Use bubble wrap, scrunched paper, or old fabrics to explore textures. 💡Water play: A sink or bowl with sponges or cups can provide endless sensory joy. 💡Movement activities: Try pillow obstacle courses or “heavy work” like pushing furniture for regulation. Im sure there’s loads more to add - but just a few ideas means sensory support can be simple, accessible for all, and impactful. It’s easier than you think to get creative and make sensory play accessible😊 #SEND SEND #Sensory #Free #Stimulation #SpecialistSENDGroup

Balancing mounts and cushions for learners' instability requires making small adjustments in their posture, engaging their core muscles and promoting movement. This movement can help improve focus and concentration, especially in individuals who struggle with sitting still for long periods. Would your learners find this useful in the classroom?
