  • We were delighted to attend the ENGSO European Sports Platform 2024 in Kosovo last week, with our CEO Lisa Wainwright MBE (She/Her) - representing the Sports Betting Group - invited to speak about the impact of match-fixing on grassroots sport. Evangelos Alexandrakis from the Olympic Movement Unit on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions, and Karen Moorhouse of the International Tennis Integrity Agency, also delivered insights into match-fixing and its impact on elite and grassroots sport. Other highlights included: 💬 A session on the EU enlargement process and sport's role in this. Mimika Dobroshi, representing Kosovo Erasmus+ Office Head, and Edith Zuschmann, President, CEO, and Co-Founder of 261 Fearless, took the stage to discuss Erasmus+ opportunities and finding new ways to financially support and maintain organisations. 🇳🇴 Rune Arctander, Head of International Development at the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports, emphasised the role of sport as the world's largest human rights movement. 🗣️ Other workshops included discussions around trending issues, including integrity in sports and the safeguarding of young people's mental health. It was fantastic to spend time with colleagues from across Europe and discuss these important issues. We look forward to further engagement in the future.

  • Last night, we had the privilege of attending the Premiership Rugby HITZ Awards at Twickenham Stadium. HITZ exemplifies rugby’s core values - teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline, and sportsmanship - empowering young people with the skills to navigate life far beyond the classroom or the rugby pitch. It was truly inspiring to celebrate the clubs, foundations, coaches, and volunteers who foster a supportive and nurturing environment through the transformative power of sport. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners!

To mark the start of UK Disability History Month, we were really pleased to contribute to this article for Sport and Recreation Alliance about creating inclusive opportunities in sport. Activity Alliance pushes for inclusion to be at the heart of all plans in sport and activity and disabled people to be prioritised, locally and nationally. We provide guidance and support to ensure that facilities, programmes, and events are accessible to people of all abilities. By championing inclusive design, training, and awareness initiatives, we empower organisations to embrace diversity and make sport and physical activities truly accessible to all. Fantastic to see Phil B. MP reference the #OutdoorsForAll manifesto in parliament, calling for greater access to green and blue space for outdoor activities including swimming, walking, water sports, and climbing. The benefits of outdoor activity is well documented, but to make the most of it we must see an extension of the public’s open access rights to the countryside and to water. Fantastic work from our friends Paddle UK
