2024 has gotten off to a great start for Team Springhill thanks to our latest CQC inspection where we were granted the top accolade of Outstanding! Each and every one of our staff and volunteers has helped make that happen, and so to say thank you, our Chief Executive Wooficer, Wilson, personally thanked team members with chocolate treats and doggy cuddles. Our CEO Sam was equally as moved by our success: ”To receive Outstanding at any time is wonderful, but to receive it after all the challenges thrown at the Hospice over the last few years is absolutely incredible, and a testament to every single member of staff and volunteer. ANNOUNCEMENT: We have taken the decision to bring our Light up a Life Celebration on Saturday 7th December indoors. Weather predictions suggest high winds and therefore for the safety of our staff, volunteers and supporters, we don’t feel it is safe to continue with our planned Light up a Life celebration outdoors. Instead, we will be hosting a drop-in Indoor Candlelight Celebration at the Hospice. We will open up our Wellbeing Centre (previously our Day Therapies Suite) between 3.30pm and 5.00pm. You are invited to drop-in at any point during this time to light a candle in memory of your loved one, share your stories and special memories, view the Book of Lights and join us for festive refreshments. Throughout the afternoon our celebration video will be played, including readings and poetry that would have been featured in our outdoor service; your photo tributes will be displayed and the choir will be singing live music. Our exclusive Light up a Life mementos and special memorial items will also be available to purchase. Last year’s celebration was a magical snow-covered event. Whilst we are disappointed we can’t hold our outdoor service this year our team are pulling out all the stops to bring the magic inside for you to ensure we can all remember our loved ones together in safety. Our Business Buddies provide so much support to the Hospice through their regular donations, lending a helping hand at our events, and their generous sponsorships. To show our appreciation, every week we will shine a light on one of our Business Buddies and their contribution to the Hospice. This week that light shines on Logic Wealth Planning.
