2024 has gotten off to a great start for Team Springhill thanks to our latest CQC inspection where we were granted the top accolade of Outstanding! Each and every one of our staff and volunteers has helped make that happen, and so to say thank you, our Chief Executive Wooficer, Wilson, personally thanked team members with chocolate treats and doggy cuddles. Our CEO Sam was equally as moved by our success: ”To receive Outstanding at any time is wonderful, but to receive it after all the challenges thrown at the Hospice over the last few years is absolutely incredible, and a testament to every single member of staff and volunteer. Our Light up a Life celebrations this year were beautiful. Even though the storm caused us to move our celebration on Saturday inside, it was still a special afternoon spent remembering loved ones. Thank you to everyone who attended the service on the 5th at St Chad’s Church and to everyone who joined us for our Candlelight Celebration on the 7th. We invite people living anywhere in Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale who are affected by any progressive life-limiting illness to join us at our upcoming Wellness Hubs. Our upcoming sessions this month are: Littleborough Cricket Club OL15 9LD December 9th 2024 10am until 12pm Number One Riverside OL16 1XU December 16th 2024 10am until 2pm Support and activities will be provided for those affected, and carers will also be welcome. Parking is available, and we are wheelchair accessible. No referral or appointment is needed; simply drop by. ✨ Day 8 – Christmas at Springhill At Springhill Hospice we try to make Christmas as magical as possible in the Inpatient Unit. Whether that’s gifting patients Christmas presents, cooking Christmas dinner for loved ones or decorating patient’s rooms, we make every effort to make it as warm and loving as possible. ✨ Day 7 – Fundraising Highlight Our fundraising events are a great way for us to raise the vital funds needed to continue running Springhill Hospice. A recent fundraising event that we are so proud of is our Three Reservoir Ramble. We successfully raised £42,419.52 with this event thanks to the amazing support of the 550 walkers and 50+ marshals and team members from The Oxford pub who joined in and supported on the day. It was a fantastic day filled with Springhill Hospice cheer and we are so thankful to everyone who participated. The ladies attending our Christmas Cracker are in for a fabulous afternoon. We are delighted to share that the wonderful world champion ballroom dancers Mia Linnik-Holden and Andrei Toader will be joining us and taking to the dance floor. We are beyond excited that this beautiful, talented couple have the time to join our ladies. We guarantee they will raise the roof with their rumba!! 💃
