⚡️ We’re hosting public consultation events to discuss plans for new electricity connections to the proposed Netherton Hub—a key project that will strengthen the grid, support renewable energy growth, and play a key role in support of national security and clean energy targets. ⚙️ Our teams will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about the plans to establish a new overhead line tie-in between the Netherton Hub and existing New Deer-Peterhead 400kV overhead line, and the removal and rebuild of a section of the overhead line between Netherton Hub and the Peterhead 400kV substation in Boddam. They will also share information on a proposed underground cable route between Netherton Hub and Sandford Bay, as part of the Eastern Green Link 3 project aiming to establish a new subsea transmission link between Peterhead and Lincolnshire. 📅 The drop-in events will take place on Wednesday 5 March: 📍 Morning Session – 10am – 12:30pm 📌 Buchan Braes Hotel, Boddam, Peterhead, AB42 3AR 📍 Afternoon Session – 3pm – 7pm 📌 Longside Parish Church Hall, Inn Brae, Longside, AB42 4XN 🔗 To find out more, visit: https://lnkd.in/g4hXu7uH

⚡️ Securing Power for Generations
About us
SSEN Transmission plays a critical role in the transition to a low carbon future, developing, building, maintaining and operating a network for net zero. Vital to net zero ambitions it transports huge quantities of clean, green renewable power over a quarter of the UK land mass across some of its most challenging terrain. With the region home to some of the UK’s greatest resources of renewable power the business has a critical role to play in the transition to a low carbon future, connecting up more renewable energy and transporting it across the country. From the deep waters of the North Sea to high mountains of the Highlands, the power from onshore and offshore wind-farms, hydro power stations and other generation assets is moved across a vast network of underground and sub-sea cables, overhead-lines, wooden poles and steel towers to millions across the UK. This system supports both the UK and Scottish Governments' net zero emissions targets whilst meeting the needs and expectations of stakeholders. As the way we live our lives changes billions of pounds in investment will be required to meet energy demands now and in the future. Through a fair, balanced and considered investment programme SSEN Transmission is committed to improving network reliability and enabling the transition to net zero, at an affordable cost to consumers, whilst also providing a fair return to investors. https://linktr.ee/ssentransmission

SSEN Transmission reposted this
Last week, Nicky Gadsden and I attended a DYW North East workshop in Aberdeen connecting with like-minded companies, all committed to supporting and empowering young people as they take their first steps into the world of work. The workshops provided valuable insights into creating more inclusive workplaces and the wide range of support available to help young people thrive. I thoroughly enjoyed the keynote from Klaus Mayer at Education Scotland - his perspective on work-related learning in the school curriculum was both inspiring and thought-provoking. It’s clear that real-life learning opportunities can play a huge role in shaping the future workforce. Looking forward to taking these learnings forward and continuing to support the next generation! 🙌 SSEN Transmission DYW North East
