Access issues Does anyone else have this problem? We have a Stannah Stairiser which works perfectly well with a standard wheelchair, but we are finding more and more people are using electric buggies which have a slightly longer wheelbase. This means that the flaps that rise to stop chairs rolling off are unable to rise high enough and thus fail to release the safety device to allow the chair to move. We have been through the Stannah's customer service dept who say nothing can be done, but looking at it, it would seem the cable that links to the safety control could be adjusted without too much hassle. Stannah say they are committed to sustainability, but it seems crazy you have to throw away a big piece of kit like this instead of making a fairly minor adjustment. At a time when the circular economy is central to everything architects do, there must be a better solution.
