  • IN THE NEWS: John Galliano is Leaving Maison Margiela After 10 years as creative director, John Galliano is leaving his post at Maison Margiela. His departure was announced today via a post on Instagram where the designer bid farewell, stating “today is the day is I say goodbye to Maison Margiela,” expressing that his “heart overflows with joyous gratitude, and my soul smiles.” He also addressed the “rumours” regarding his future amongst speculation of a move to Dior or Fendi, saying “when the time is right, all will be revealed”. Galliano’s decision comes as his five-year contract, which began in 2014, nears its end, and he chose not to renew. While his exit has been anticipated due to months of speculation, Galliano's legacy at Margiela culminates in his successful Artisanal 2024 collection. The show, which featured marionette-inspired looks and Pat McGrath's striking glassy makeup, captured widespread attention. The collection was further spotlighted when it was worn by celebrities like Bad Bunny, Ariana Grande, and Gwendoline Christie at the 2024 Met Gala. Where do you think is next for Galliano, and who could step in to shape Margiela’s future? What might the next era look like for the brand? 🤔 💭 #Fashion #JohnGalliano #MaisonMargiela #FashionNews #FashionIndustry #Designers #LuxuryFashion

  • TFN SPOTTED: Kate Spade Transforms Classic London Pub for Christmas as Brands Continue to Embrace British Culture With Activations British pubs and cafés are becoming unexpected stars in high-end fashion! Their cultural charm is being embraced by luxury brands as part of their experiential marketing strategies, and kate spade new york is the latest brand to tap into the trend. Last Friday and Saturday, the American brand transformed the Exmouth Arms in London to showcase its festive-season collection. Rebranded as ‘The Kate Spade Arms,’ the experiential activation featured bespoke Kate Spade pub signs outside and championed all things classic British pub culture inside. Highlights included a curated menu, featuring Kate Spade-branded crisps and specialty drinks, along with live music from an all-female brass band, branded pub games, a pub quiz, and interactive workshops (scrunchie making with Good Squish, candle-making with OHROS & crumble-making with Humble Crumble). “We are constantly exploring new ways to engage with younger customers, and we want to authentically meet our community where they are in a way that is uniquely Kate Spade,” said Matteo De Bortoli Albricci, SVP and General Manager, EMEAI at Tapestry, Kate Spade’s parent company. “As an emotive brand, we value the importance of building deeper connections with our customers through interactive experiences.” This move follows Burberry’s Streets initiative, which reimagined Norman’s Café in North London and introduced a traveling food truck to fashion capitals like Seoul, Shanghai, and New York. Similarly, JW Anderson hosted a lively gathering at The Devonshire to celebrate their SS25 Guinness collaboration - a capsule collection unveiled on the Milan runway and now available in stores. By tapping into the warmth and familiarity of pubs, cafés, and other stereotypically British spaces, brands are resonating with both local culture and a global audience. The trend allows them to create a strong bond through cultural significance, fostering engagement, and bringing a fresh twist to the usual fashion event format, making the consumer experience more relatable and memorable. What do you think... Is tapping into well-loved British culture an effective way to connect with consumers during the holiday season? How do you think this mix of heritage and contemporary branding will shape the future of fashion pop-ups? We'd love to hear what you have to say in the comments below 💭 Images: Shop Drop Daily #FashionActivations #ExperientialMarketing #BrandEngagement #FashionMarketing #FashionPopUp #CreativeMarketing #Luxury #BrandExperience #InteractiveExperiences #HolidayMarketing #Christmas #Innovation

  • IN THE NEWS: Sabrina Carpenter and Alexandre Sarr Front Versace’s Latest Campaign Versace’s iconic ‘Biggie’ sunglasses make a bold return with a campaign starring singer Sabrina Carpenter and NBA player Alexandre Sarr. Photographed by Rosie Marks, the duo pose in sleek, minimalist shots that spotlight the statement-making eyewear, adorned with chunky gold Medusa details. The sunglasses, named after the late rap icon Biggie Smalls, hold a significant place in pop culture. Biggie popularised the style in the 1994 video for One More Chance, during an era when many fashion houses distanced themselves from hip-hop culture. Gianni Versace, however, embraced it, welcoming artists like Biggie and even Tupac Shakur to his runway in the mid-90s. Donatella Versace spoke on the campaign saying “From Notorious B.I.G. to the extraordinary talent of today, the Biggie community are rebels, groundbreakers, and champions of the true Versace spirit. I am thrilled to have Sabrina and Alexandre join our Versace family in their fabulous Biggie glasses.” What are your thoughts on brands honouring their archival pieces while reimagining them for modern audiences? Do you think Carpenter and Sarr are the right fit for the campaign? Comment and let us know 💭👇 #FashionNews #Versace #Celebrity #Marketing #LuxuryFashion #PopCulture
