🌍 Systems that once worked may no longer meet the needs of today’s world. Population migration and climate change are reshaping communities, leaving hospitals underused in some areas while others are overwhelmed. In Nepal, as people move for work and climate shifts reshape the landscape, traditional health systems struggle to adapt. It’s a stark reminder that we need flexible, responsive systems that evolve with these changes. Learning from similar countries and adapting proven approaches can be a powerful way forward however approaches need to be adapted to suit each context. How do we ensure our health systems remain relevant in a rapidly changing world? 🎧 Roshan Pokhrel, Secretary Ministry of Health Population, Nepal, shares his experience in this episode. 🎙️📽️ A Fantastic Day of Media Training at the Symposium! 📽️🎙️ We had an incredible session yesterday, bringing together a dynamic mix of participants—from those with no prior media production experience at all, to seasoned journalists and communications managers. The variety of perspectives and skills in the room made for a truly engaging and enriching experience. In the morning, we explored the theory behind podcasting and film, discussing storytelling, ethics, and the essentials of media production. By the afternoon, participants were putting theory into action—working in groups to create short films linked to the themes of the symposium. It was inspiring to see teams drawing on each other’s strengths and producing impactful outputs in such a short space of time. We’re so excited to see how participants take these new skills forward in their engagement and communication strategies. And we’re not done yet! We’re here all week, continuing to support budding podcasters and media creators, helping them explore how accessible and concise media like podcasts can amplify their messaging. 🎧 Keep an ear out for upcoming episodes on Connecting Citizens to Science and Health Systems Pathways—available on all podcast platforms. We can’t wait to share more stories from this amazing community! #MediaTraining #Podcasting #FilmProduction #HealthSystems #ConnectingCitizensToScience #HealthSystemsPathways Health Systems Global ReBUILD for Resilience Pamoja Communications Ltd Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine Population Services International Jeff Knezovich

Here at #HSR2024 we had a wonderful full-day capacity strengthening session- 'Getting started with audio and multi-media'. An active learning session in the morning introduced some of the creative ways that research programmes have created digital outputs to stimulate changes in health. Discussions and learning on creating #podcasts and films followed. In the afternoon, four teams were supported to record and share feedback on their films - learning by doing!
