Macdonald Henderson is delighted that our firm’s Laura McKnight is included in The Business magazine’s 25 Legal Names to Watch in 2025 – 25 leading female lawyers in Scotland’s legal world.   Laura has enjoyed a stellar year, acting as lead advisor for Juniper in the acquisition of Traveltek and Turnkey IPS on an investment by Bowmark Capital, as well as leading our firm's acquisition of Ferguson Whyte.   Congratulations to Laura and all the accomplished lawyers in the Top 25 list.

Despite a challenging UK fundraising environment, the Scottish Risk Capital Market continues to show resilience, with investment value reaching £586m at the end of Q3 2024, ahead of full year 2023.

Last night we participated in the Legal 500 awards, where we were pleased to win the Diversity and Inclusion award and are very proud of our Partner and Head of Clean Energy, Clare Foster, on her win as Lawyer of the Year.    Congratulations to all nominees and winners from the night, and well done to everyone in our firm who continues to strive for diversity and inclusion in our workplace – with an extra round of applause to Clare Foster on her well-deserved win 👏

These have been interesting times at Glasgow corporate law firm Macdonald Henderson. October 2024 alone saw the firm advise on 14 deals and last week it announced the acquisition of Ferguson Whyte Solicitors, gaining it a presence in the Glasgow’s West End as well as its Hope Street office in the city centre.

Macdonald Henderson has today announced the acquisition of Ferguson Whyte Solicitors.   Ferguson Whyte is one of the longest established firms of solicitors in the West End of Glasgow, offering a wide range of private client and property services to individuals, couples and families.   The firm will be known as Macdonald Henderson, incorporating Ferguson Whyte. For the first time, Macdonald Henderson will have two offices (in Glasgow), City Centre and West End.   We look forward to working with our new colleagues, to the benefit of the combined firm’s loyal and growing client base.
