We're delighted to spotlight the incredible talent and dedication of our chefs this International Chefs Day 🧑🍳 With a current total of 189 chefs across our group, we are proud of their passion and skill. Among the brigades we have 23 chefs that have been with us for over 10 years, including 5 who have dedicated more than 20 years to the DRG family. In commitment to nurturing talent at The DRG our Chef Apprenticeship Programme provides formal training that has seen 4 chefs successfully complete their apprenticeship and 1 current chef honing their skills with us. Whilst senior chefs provide invaluable support and guidance to their teams, fostering growth and development throughout the ranks. Our very talented bartender Sophie from the Atlantic Brasserie is headed to Athens at the end of the year to compete in the Global Metaxa Competition after winning the UK championship earlier this month. Her cocktail "Elysium" inspired by Aphrodite is a twist on a French 75 with a tasty spent rose champagne cordial, some Greek sparkling wine to top it up and a garnish of delightful loukoumi 🪽 Sophie was tasked with re-imagining a classic cocktail inspired by the stories and might of Zeus and his gang of Olympian gods. Sustainability also played a big part in this challenge, and had to be showcased in the creation of the cocktail.
