We're thrilled to share the news that Pagen Spooner, our Geoenvironmental Consultant, won the Early Careers Poster Competition at the The Society of Brownfield Risk Assessment (SoBRA) UK Winter Conference. Her poster titled, "The benefits of measuring dissolved methane for interpreting ground gas results in a groundwater prevalent site" will be showcased in Burlington House, London and is below to read. Congratulations Pagen!
I am over the moon to have won the Early Careers Poster Competition for the The Society of Brownfield Risk Assessment (SoBRA) UK Winter Conference and for this to be displayed at the Burlington House, London, with other incredible contenders. The topic was to showcase a case study for an unusual/ non-standard project with a risk assessment bias. My poster showcased "The benefits of measuring dissolved methane for interpreting ground gas results in a groundwater prevalent site" and I have attached this below for view. Although I sadly was unable to attend the event, I would like to thank The Society of Brownfield Risk Assessment (SoBRA) UK for organising the conference and showcasing the work we are involved in. Personally, I have learnt a lot with The Environmental Protection Group (EPG) over the past 18 months and am thankful to be taking the lead on new methods of testing in the industry. I found learning about dissolved methane, during my time as a graduate, incredibly interesting and found a number of benefits with using the dissolved methane probes to measure dissolved methane, compared to the groundwater sampling which alternatively leads to methane loss and degassing. I am excited to use this method in upcoming projects and would highly recommend contacting EPG if you are working on a site with the potential for dissolved methane. Thank you again 😊
