#scienceinapark never looks so good as when the first snow arrives like here in #Headington #Oxford at The Oxford Trust's Stansfeld Park - home to Wood Centre For Innovation and the Science Oxford Centre. Can't say it makes commuting any more fun but the end result can be magical.

Great to see The Oxford Trust’s newest occupant of its Wood Centre For Innovation site in #headington Bioarchitech Ltd out on the global stage. Bioengineered viruses have enormous potential to address some of the worlds most challenging diseases.
🌟𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵!🌟 We're pleased to share that our CEO & CSO, Kevin Maskell, recently spoke at the Riyadh Global Medical Biotechnology Summit 2024, where he presented on "𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘃𝗶𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆". His talk covered Bioarchitech's latest advancements in using engineered viruses and antibody therapies to treat solid tumours. Kevin highlighted the potential of our engineered virus BA-V151 to activate immune responses against cancer and in particular metastases, representing a promising step forward in immunotherapy. At Bioarchitech, we're dedicated to creating innovative treatments that harness the immune system to combat tumour growth and metastasis. We're honoured to contribute to the global biotechnology conversation focused on improving patient outcomes. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this inspiring event! Contributions by the panelists Steve Rees OBE from AstraZeneca and Kate Bingham from SV Health Investors on how to develop an effective biotech ecosystem were real highlights. Funding, collaboration and cutting red tape are principles applicable everywhere. #CancerResearch #Biotechnology #Immunotherapy #OncolyticViruses #Bioarchitech #MedicalInnovation #RGMS2024

Connecting young people with Oxford's innovation community and the exciting and inspiring work in our region gives them valuable insight into STEM careers. Thanks to Oxford Technology Park for the support for STEM Insight Week run by our Science Oxford team!
As part of Science Oxford’s STEM Insight Week, we recently welcomed secondary school students for a tour of Oxford Technology Park with two of our occupiers: Fortescue Zero and LGC’s The Native Antigen Company, providing them with a fascinating insight into the range of opportunities across STEM careers, including science, technology, engineering and maths. STEM Insight Weeks are a key element of Science Oxford’s Secondary School Programme offering students across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire the chance to explore STEM careers and build valuable work-related skills. The day began with a talk and a tour of LGC's The Native Antigen Company and included tours of the microbiology, cell culture and purification laboratories. At Fortescue Zero, students explored the areas where Fortescue Zero designs and manufactures high-performance batteries, learning about the testing and production processes behind zero-emission powertrains and prototype battery systems. Huge thanks to Samantha Mathieson, Toni Ertl and Dr Holger Hannemann at LGC's The Native Antigen Company and Ann White and Catherine T. at Fortescue Zero and Madelaine Swift and Francesca MacLennan (Long) at Science Oxford for making this happen.
