Not all events are created equal... ... but the Future of Food Competition set up by Barney😜 Mauleverer, Alice Hall and their extended team of helpers set a new benchmark this Tuesday 👏👏👏 This was the winning formula for the best event in ages 🏛️ Iconic venue at the Royal Geographical Society 👩🏫 Genuinely amazing keynote speakers that I would pay to listen to like Pen Hadow (Artic explorer) and Mike Berners-Lee (author of There's No Planet B) 👟 An efficient format which meant we had 50+ conversations all day and then a high pressure 1 MINUTE on stage (😱) 👨⚖️ Billy bigwig (super lovely) judges including Rebecca Oliver-Mooney, Adam Leyland, Fiona Fitzpatrick, and Jason Gibb 👯 Incredible founders who are doing great things like Jagir Mankodi 🥜 and Nirali Buch Mankodi from Superfoodio, Fergus O'Sullivan at NICE RICE and Amelia Christie-Miller at Bold Bean Co | B Corp™ 👑 Lots of the movers and shakers in the industry in one place 🏅 Genuinely useful prizes including £10k cheque (kerching), access to data from Kieran South at North Star and Miranda Ballard at NielsenIQ, advisory support from Angelos Panayiotou at WFL (Windfall Logistics Ltd) and a spot on Fiona's epic Brand Growth Heroes Mini MBA programme It was the cherry on the top to get silver (🥈) and be the runner-up to the hugely deserving winner Fergus O'Sullivan of Nice Rice (did you know that rice has the second highest carbon footprint of all food after beef 🤯?). Thank you so much to my brilliant partner for the day Flo Evans-Thomas who fielded all sorts of unexpected questions. And big love to Barney and the team for staging this event. It's a keeper 🙂#founderlife #challengerbrands #grocery
