We will definitely be discussing this on the next episode! Interesting! Can it be done???
🧱 Construction industry bodies have announced plans for 32 'new skills hubs' in a bid to fill housebuilding skills gaps with 'fast-track' training for up to 5,000 apprentices each year. Joint investment of £140 million from the Construction Industry Training Board and the National House-Building Council, will see the hubs developed in areas with the greatest homebuilding need, according to a government press release.

👷🏻♂️Suicide in the Construction Industry!!! Something we’ve talked a lot about on the Podcast. Today, we want to bring attention to an urgent and often overlooked issue: From On The Tools the high rate of suicide among men working in the construction industry. The Hard Facts In the UK and many other countries, construction has one of the highest suicide rates of any profession. Men working in construction are nearly four times more likely to die by suicide than the national average, with factors like high stress, long hours, job insecurity, and a culture that often discourages seeking help. Many workers face isolation, physical strain, and financial pressure – all of which take a toll on mental health. Breaking the Silence Despite these staggering statistics, mental health remains a tough topic to address on job sites. A “tough guy” culture in construction often means that stress, anxiety, and depression go unspoken. Many workers feel they need to “man up” instead of reaching out for help. This needs to change. It’s essential that we start normalising mental health conversations, creating supportive work environments, and providing access to resources that promote mental well-being. #MentalHealthAwareness #ConstructionIndustry #SuicidePrevention #BreakTheStigma #SupportEachOther #onthetools

Losing my dad has been one of the hardest experiences of my life. He was a man who spent his entire career in the construction industry, working tirelessly day in and day out. His hands built homes, offices, schools—places where people live, learn, and grow. But more than the structures he left behind, it was the foundation of hard work, integrity, and grit that he instilled in everyone around him that truly stands out. Grief is heavy, and it comes in waves, but I find comfort in knowing that the work ethic and values he passed down to all his children are unshakable. He taught me that real success is found in the effort you put in, not just the final outcome. Here’s a little clip on Dads final weeks, from episode 16 of the podcast Enjoy! https://lnkd.in/eph-2Mzq

The discussion also touches on potential contributing factors like working alone, financial struggles, and lack of job security for lower-skilled workers. #construction #farming #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealth #uk #stockport #worker #sitecabin #sitecabinpodcast #foryour #fypシ゚viral #foryoupage #trades #tradesman #andysmanclub https://lnkd.in/edF6McQy
