📢Exciting news! We are thrilled to announce the launch of BESA #NextGen Network, we are a group dedicated to supporting those starting careers in the building services sector. At BESA, we understand the challenges that engineers face as they navigate the early stages of their careers. That's why we have created this group to provide a supportive community, and networking opportunities for those just starting out in the sector. Ryan Walton MInstR, Chair of the Network has said “It is a real honour and a great opportunity to work with my fellow young engineers through this exciting initiative,” he said. “We have a lot to offer the Association and the wider industry, but it is often hard for us to make our collective voice heard." “It can also be an intimidating experience for younger people to network with older, more experienced engineers, particularly when they are just finding their feet in the industry. So, we believe having our own community will help us develop our own priorities and then use BESA’s established and respected platform to help shape the industry’s agenda.” So if you're new to the industry, whether you're an engineer, or working hard behind the scenes, we invite you to join us and be part of the #NextGen and together, we can inspire and connect the next generation of building service professionals. Stay tuned for more #NextGen updates 👀 Find out more here 👉 https://lnkd.in/e5wXtfcq #BESA #BuildingServices #NextGen Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions Europe

I’m honoured to be highly commended in the continuous improvement category at the first ever BESA Group Recognition Awards! 🤩 Being nominated by my colleagues means so much to me. Over the last three — almost four — years, I’ve worked hard to challenge and push myself beyond my comfort zone. I just want to reflect on how far I’ve come over that time, as I remember when I joined BESA, fresh out of redundancy, lacking in confidence and often feeling like an impostor. Well, not anymore! 2021 me would never believe that, over the last year, I would be leading digital marketing campaigns for the BESA Annual Conference & Industry Awards, or working on a Virtual Reality project alongside Circus, who brought the world of building engineering services and BESA to life in an immersive experience — a first for BESA! I’ve also been an active member of the BESA NextGen Network, working alongside talented individuals across the sector! On top of that, last year, I completed my Level 3 in Digital Marketing, achieving a distinction, and I’m about to start my CIM Level 4 Certification in Professional & Digital Marketing this Wednesday! To everyone who nominated me, and to the senior leadership team who judged the nominations — thank you! It’s been a crazy year, and I can’t wait to see what 2025 brings. 💪

Over the last 18 months we have conducted a number of extensive surveys to help us better understand the skills related issues you currently face within the industry. This research has helped inform the services we offer and identify any gaps. To no surprise, one of the key challenges identified is the chronic skills shortage which is affecting the ability of members and wider industry to recruit and nurture new talent into the sector. With this in mind, we launched a dedicated Skills Policy Team. Meet Stuart Rattray, Head of Skills & Policy who told us more about the new Skills Policy Team at the #BESAAnnualConference earlier this year. To learn more about the Skills Policy Team and how they can support you, go to Skills Hub on the BESA Website here 👉 https://lnkd.in/ewKecSff
