Updates

  • As the year winds down we are finally practicing what we preach, and giving ourselves some TLC. The 4 of us enjoyed a beautiful lunch at Plan B in Crouch Hill, savouring some delicious food and coffee, and each other's company. It's been a whirlwind few months as we've been travelling all over the UK and Europe delivering our Leadership Development Programme with different cohorts, plus developing and delivering some brilliant workshops and carrying out 1:1 leadership coaching. We always strive to embody compassionate leadership as we work with each other, role modelling the kind of working culture that we support our clients to build. We shared our favourite learnings, held space for each other to be vulnerable, to take stock of the year that is closing, and set some intentions for the year ahead. May there be much pleasure, positivity, creativity and momentum for all of us. Wishing all of our clients a happy and peaceful break, and we look forward to spreading even more TLC in 2025. Ayesha, Caitlin, Carmel and Susannah

  • The delight we take in training internationally is the constant reminder of what makes us all move forward with purpose in this world: connection. Connection with our purpose, our goals, our aspirations, our work itself, and of course each other…. Wherever we are, when we give ourselves the time to step back and reconnect - the impact is instant and powerful. Susannah has just run our Stepping Into Your Future programme at the Osijek Academy for Arts and Culture in Croatia, working with students and professors alike on clarifying their future steps: being yourself with confidence, presenting your work authentically, the importance of building meaningful networks and shaping your dream career. These creatives hold the future in their hands, the stories they tell will help shape the world we live in. They are now even more connected with their why *and* their how, and the world will be a better place for it. It is all connected. *** With thanks to the brilliant theatre director and professor @Anica Tomić who received Susannah’s training on Networking at the European Theatre Convention annual conference in Slovenia in April 2024, and immediately moved to ensure her students and colleagues in Croatia could benefit too.

  • Do you feel like you lead a well-balanced life? What stuff sucks up your time, energy and attention, and would you like to strike a better balance with these precious resources? This afternoon, for World Mental Health Day, Carmel and Ayesha are delivering one of our signature workshops to a sold out crowd: Striking a Balance. We'll be encouraging participants to reconnect with their 'WHY', and help them understand more about the barriers which get in the way of balance. We'll also provide plenty of tools and techniques to help create boundaries, stay energised, prioritise joy and make good choices. Because striking a good balance between all the areas in our life is so important for mental health. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealth #Balance #Training #TLC

  • When the content inside the room is as in-spiring as the content outside…..! Thank you Salisbury for being a dream location for today’s Leadership Development Programme. Turns out taking themselves out of their everyday surroundings was just the catalyst for this Senior Leadership Team to help ideas flow… One of their organisational values is *inspiration* and we really felt that today. Thank you - we look forward to seeing what the next six months brings! #leadership #training #salisburycathedral #todaysoffice

  • Do you find it challenging to ask for more? Many of us struggle to ask for pay rises or to quote higher freelance rates. We’ve heard many people say that even thinking about these types of conversations induces nerves, stress and anxiety.   This means that too often, people undersell themselves, afraid to state the number they truly deserve. At The Leadership Collective, we think it’s vital that you know your value, and state your worth with authentic confidence. Take an honest look at your skills and strengths and research your industry’s standards. Try asking a friend or a mentor to help you practise your pitch and offer some potential pushbacks. The more you practise, the more confident you’ll become. We also recommend reframing any sense of rejection. It’s not personal, it’s just an opportunity for another conversation! A shift in mindset can completely change your approach. Remember, the number you state is not just a figure; it’s a declaration of your professional worth. Say it with confidence, and let your work speak for itself.

  • This is a brilliant and searing article on the challenges women face working in the TV and film industries. It champions the fantastic work that Michelle Reynolds and Rowan Aust are leading to create profound and long-lasting change, towards the principles of Good Work: flexibility, fair pay and fair hours. We are incredibly proud and pleased that we are a part of their mission, providing training workshops for Reel Time Media and ScreenSkills on subjects such as: - Finding Your Own Voice (Assertiveness 101) - Building in Rest and Avoiding Burnout - How to Create a Meaningful Network, and Why - Empowering Skills in Negotiation With people like Reel Time Media, ScreenSkills and, dare we say it, The Leadership Collective. bringing their brains, experience, wisdom, and humour to the issues mentioned in the article, things, really, have a chance to get better............ https://lnkd.in/e4SERpFx

  • We are thrilled to be Associate Training Consultants with ReelTime Media, running workshops on their new project with ScreenSkills: Return to Work in High-End TV Production. We're working with a cohort of freelancers who are looking to return to work in HETV in production and locations, to support and empower them as they navigate their way. ReelTime Media (Michelle Reynolds and Rowan Aust) are advocates for 'Good Work: flexibility, fair pay and fair hours', and we heartily agree. Caitlin S. ran the first session on Building Skills and Confidence in Negotiation. Many of us know that being the first to make a move in a negotiation - particularly as a freelancer - can be a scary moment, and demystifying the 'game' of negotiation was found to be incredibly helpful! Looking forward to our next one this week - Building in Rest and Avoiding Burnout with Ayesha Nathoo - our very own in-house specialist in the world of rest! https://lnkd.in/ekNCN9xT
