A huge thank you to our partner, Toward, who swapped out their usual secret Santa for supporting our work 🎄
Each member of the Toward team contributed a sensory toy to support individuals with autism and dementia through the Community Foundation 🧸🎁
Toward Studio has been a proud supporter of the Community Foundation for several years, helping us develop a strong and recognisable visual identity that captures the essence of our work.
Through this charity partnership, they are committed to raising awareness of the Community Foundation and are taking on several fundraising activities that will enable us to continue providing life-changing programmes across South Wales 🏴

“How was 2024 for you?”
We’ve asked, and been asked that question a lot over the last couple of weeks. And everyone seems to have the same sort of answer — “a bit weird”.
We're not really sure why, but for lots of reasons it’s been tough. In business and in life. For pretty much everyone. But it feels like the tide is turning. November and December have felt different. More energetic. More positive.
And we should be feeling positive. While it’s often hard to appreciate at the time, looking back it’s been a great year in many respects at Toward HQ. Here’s some of our highlights:
🚀 Project Launches
We’ve seen a whole host of projects go live, including branding, websites and campaigns for Engage, SOCS, Liberty Marketing, Supersmith, Call of the Wild Ltd, Catnic, WeCare Wales, Race Equality First, Terra Mare, Character.com, Llanerch, Monex Group, Tata Group and many more.
🤝 Ongoing Partnerships
We really focus on building long lasting partnerships and it's great to continue our guardianship and support work with Celtic Manor, Accountancy Cloud, Hello Starling, Community Housing Cymru, Lanelay Hall Hotel & Spa, Subzero Ice Cream, Vortex, Gofal Cymdeithasol Cymru / Social Care Wales, plus so many more.
🙌 New People
This year we were delighted to welcome (back) account manager Meg, who returns to her position after 2 years of working at places not as cool as Toward. We also welcomed Büşra, the newest addition to the creative team who has already worked on brands, websites and campaigns for lots of our awesome clients.
🫶 Charity Partnership
This year we announced our first charity partnership with our long time client partner Cardiff City FC Community Foundation. So far we’ve raised money by running the Cardiff 10k and swapped our usual secret santa gifts with donating toys for the children the foundation supports. Plus, rather than sending cards or gifts to clients, we’re donating the money we would have spent. We can’t wait to do more in 2025!
🏠 New Studio
After almost 10 years in Portland House, we moved right across the road to our new studio. Bigger, brighter and better suited to our needs. We’ve had a couple of months of settling in and while there’s still some furniture to be added, it really feels like home already.
👩💻👨💻 WIP
There’s so much work in progress that we can’t wait to share next year, with launches planned in January, February and Mach already. Watch this space!
So, as weird ol’ 2024 draws to a close, we’re feeling energised for what 2025 will bring! We hope you are too.
But for now, we’re heading off for a well earned break. We’ll be back ready for action on January 2nd.
From everyone at Toward—Merry Christmas, and a happy new year!
Mike Jordan, Tom Lloyd, Naima Hidalgo Muñoz, Matthew Jackson, Nathan Miller, Paul Goodfield, Megan Knowles, Dave Griffiths, Charlie Dowley, Busra Yildiz, Gemma Pearson and Kevin Hughes.
What is a website?
Is it a marketing tool? A business tool? A productivity tool? Whatever purpose your website serves, there's one thing you need to ensure — that it's an extension of your brand experience.
When someone visits your website it should feel like the same experience as walking into your office all calling your helpline. It's much more than a tool — your website should be a way of connecting with your audience, drawing attention to your brand and moving your company forward.

Naming - It's a big deal that can have huge implications and a problem that we've been tasked with solving many times.
Choosing the right name for a brand, product, or organisation isn’t just a creative exercise—it’s a strategic one. In this first of a series of three blog posts, Dave Griffiths breaks down the entire process, from aligning on purpose and values to generating and refining the best ideas.
More than a catchy word, a name should convey meaning, spark connection, and stand out for all the right reasons. It’s about balancing art with strategy, ensuring what you call yourself genuinely reflects who you are and where you’re headed.
If you've been faced with the task of coming up with a new business or product name, please do share your experiences.

Delighted for the whole team at Catnic - Highly Commended in the Best Branding and Positioning category at the Construction Marketing Awards - A great example to businesses of how to evolve a brand, using it’s heritage and pedigree to create an exciting new future.
I absolutely love this time of year—and not just because there are only 22 sleeps until Santa! 🎅
Judging the Construction Marketing Awards is an incredible opportunity, one I’ve been privileged to be part of for many years.
It’s always a highlight of my year to celebrate the brightest stars in our industry and reconnect with so many incredible professionals.
And to top it off, this year, Catnic has been honoured with a Highly Commended for the Best Brand and Positioning Award at the Construction Marketing Awards! What a fantastic achievement!
