  • Our Corporate Health and Wellbeing Company Director Caroline Sidell has perfectly summed up why finding balance - whether on the slopes or in daily life - is so important. Caroline's experience is a powerful reminder of why taking a break isn’t just nice - it’s necessary. After major hip surgery just five months ago, she got back on the slopes, proving that rest, recovery, and movement go hand in hand. At Via Vita Health, we know that finding balance - whether it’s through travel, movement, or simply stepping away from screens - is key to long-term wellbeing. If skiing isn’t your thing, here are other ways to reset and recharge: ✔ Nature, in any form – A walk in the park, a beach stroll, or even gardening can refresh your mind and body. ✔ Movement that brings joy – It doesn’t have to be skiing! Try swimming, cycling, yoga, or even dancing - whatever makes you feel good. ✔ A tech detox – Swap scrolling for face-to-face conversations, books, or creative hobbies. ✔ Prioritising rest – Whether it’s better sleep, mindful moments, or a weekend getaway, giving yourself permission to slow down is key. ✔ Quality time with family – As Caroline highlighted, showing kids the value of movement, fresh air, and screen-free fun is priceless. What’s your go-to way to find balance and recharge? After having major hip surgery 5 months ago I am super pleased to say that I managed an amazing ski trip to Avoriaz with family and friends, and wow - what a reminder of how important it is to find balance (on and off the slopes… quite literally!). Skiing really allows you the chance to switch off, reset, and focus on wellbeing. My favourite bits: Minimal screens, great times chatting with friends and family. There’s just something about mountain air, Vitamin D, and being surrounded by nature that hits reset on both body and mind. And, thinking of #Children’sMentalHealthWeek recently, this was a big one. Watching my two little boys push themselves, build confidence, and have fun without distractions was priceless. Plus, showing them that movement and fresh air = feeling good was a win. Stepping away from the daily noise and permitting ourselves to recharge was SO important. I feel way more refreshed and ready to take on whatever’s next. Moral of the story? Take the break. Book the trip. Go outside. Move your body. Finding balance is key, and sometimes, you need to hit pause to move forward. You never regret it!⛷️❄️ #FindingBalance #SkiTrip #MentalWellbeing #BurnoutPrevention #TimeToTalk #MoveYourBody #FreshAirTherapy #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek Cloudbenefits Limited

  • In a world filled with constant noise; notifications, meetings, and endless conversations, when was the last time you embraced silence? National Quiet Day (February 25th) is a reminder that intentional quiet moments aren’t just refreshing - they’re essential for wellbeing, focus, and mental clarity. Research shows that taking time away from distractions can lower stress, boost creativity, and improve decision-making (healthline.com). Try this challenge: ✔ Start your morning in silence: no phones, no music, just you and your thoughts. ✔ Take a quiet walk: disconnect and let nature guide your focus. ✔ Create a device-free hour: allow your mind to reset without screens. ✔ Wind down with intentional silence before bed: a moment of calm to improve sleep. How will you embrace quiet today? Share your thoughts in the comments. #NationalQuietDay #MindfulnessAtWork #WorkplaceWellness #EmployeeWellbeing #WorkLifeBalance #StressRelief #QuietTime #MentalHealthMatters #SelfCareAtWork

  • Burnout isn’t just about feeling tired, it’s a sign that employees are overwhelmed, overworked, and disconnected. When burnout takes hold, productivity, creativity, and wellbeing suffer.   But the good news? Small, intentional changes can help employees regain balance, energy, and purpose. 💡 Ways you can support your employees and prevent burnout: ✔ Support flexible working hours and ensure employees can disconnect outside of work. ✔ Regular breaks, mental health days, and time for recharging lead to long-term success. ✔ Help employees find meaning in their work and build a supportive environment. ✔ Encourage open conversations about workload, wellbeing, and realistic expectations. ✔ Provide access to mental health resources, wellness initiatives, and mindfulness tools. The best workplaces don’t just prevent burnout - they create environments where employees can truly thrive. Let’s shift the focus from just getting through the day to feeling engaged, inspired, and fulfilled. ✨ How does your company help employees avoid burnout? #EmployeeWellbeing #BurnoutPrevention #WorkplaceWellness #PeopleFirst #WorkplaceCulture #WorkLifeBalance #Resilience #EmployeeEngagement

  • Mental health matters every day - so today, on Time to Talk Day, let’s make space for real conversations. In today’s fast-paced work environment, employees often feel pressure to 'power through' stress, anxiety, or burnout. But talking about mental health can be a game-changer. Did you know? * 1 in 4 people experience a mental health problem each year. * Work-related stress costs UK businesses millions in lost productivity annually. * A culture of open conversation leads to healthier, happier, and more engaged teams. 💡 How you can help: ✅ Encourage conversations: Create safe spaces for employees to share experiences. A simple 'How are you, really?' can go a long way. ✅ Lead by example: Managers need to openly discuss mental health to break the stigma. ✅ Offer flexible breaks: Let employees take time to chat over a coffee or a walk. ✅ Provide mental health resources: Signpost support options, from EAPs to helplines. ✅ Keep the conversation going: Mental health isn’t a one-day topic - embed support into your company culture. Let’s make talking about mental health as normal as chatting about the weather. How is your workplace marking #TimeToTalkDay? Hovis Ltd has distributed over 3,000 KitKats to its workforce today to encourage their teams to take a break and chat. Need some ideas? Get in touch. We love helping businesses create healthier, happier and more resilient workforces💙 #MentalHealthAtWork #Wellbeing #TimeToTalk

  • We were delighted to co-host the 'Challenging times in HR and the chance to make a real impact', event in Pall Mall last week with DNA (Digital Native Advertising) John Tarrant, Mary Enright, and our colleagues at Cloud Benefits Limited. It was a fantastic opportunity to engage with some of the best minds in HR today. The conversations were dynamic, and the key takeaways were so timely and actionable. Here are a few insights: 💡 Dom Mellonie (formerly at Purple Bricks) shared fresh ideas on how HR can rethink engagement, making it more meaningful and sustainable. As workplaces evolve, keeping employees connected to company culture has never been more critical. 🏆 McLaren Racing's People Director Rebecca Constable showed how their team’s culture isn’t just about racing, but about creating an environment where employees at all levels can thrive through continuous development, strong collaboration, and a focus on wellbeing. 🚀 Rebekah Galligan Head of People Experience at wagamama explored how HR leaders can apply positive psychology principles to empower employees in their career development, helping them find fulfillment while driving business success. The insights from this event couldn’t be more relevant as HR professionals navigate major shifts, including: * Strengthening employer branding to attract and retain top talent. * Integrating AI and automation into HR processes to streamline workflows. * Revolutionising talent strategies to be competitive in a changing jobs market. * Prioritising wellbeing and mental health as a core part of company culture. * And optimising hybrid work models, creating flexibility without sacrificing productivity. Despite these challenges, HR is in a powerful position to lead transformation by: ✅ Using data-driven insights to anticipate workforce needs. ✅ Championing inclusive workplaces that develop belonging. ✅ Leading upskilling and reskilling to future-proof careers. ✅ Enhancing the employee experience beyond traditional perks. ✅ Steering digital transformation with a people-first approach. The event reinforced that HR isn't just reacting to change - it’s shaping the future. A huge thank you to the hosts and speakers for such a thought-provoking session. We're looking forward to seeing how these insights drive action in the months ahead. #HRLeadership #WorkplaceCulture #TalentDevelopment #HRInnovation

  • The festive season is here! While it's a time for joy and connection, it can also feel overwhelming. To help you make the most of it, and stay healthy, mind, body and soul, here are five simple yet powerful tips: 1️⃣ Pile on the veggies 🥗 Balance indulgent treats with vibrant, nutrient-packed veggies. Fill your plate with colour and enjoy a holiday glow from the inside out. 2️⃣ Pace your celebrations 🍷 Sip your drinks slowly and savour each moment. Alternate with water to stay hydrated, your body (and your mornings) will thank you. Mocktails are also a great option. 3️⃣ Make a budget and stick to it 💸 Avoid January blues by setting spending limits and tracking them. Thoughtful DIY gifts or a Secret Santa can keep the cheer without completely emptying your wallet. 4️⃣ Plan active outings 🏞️ Stay merry and move! Go for a walk to see holiday lights, try ice skating or run a festive step challenge while shopping with loved ones. 5️⃣ Create a relaxation ritual 🧘 Dedicate a few minutes daily to something calming - deep breathing, meditation or listening to your favourite music. Recharge and find your holiday zen. 🌟 The festive season doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. Focus on small, mindful moments and celebrate what truly matters. Which of these tips resonates most with you? Share your thoughts below! 👇 #HolidayWellness #FestiveSeason #MindfulHolidays #ThrivingTips

  • The festive season is here - a time of joy, connection, and celebration. But let’s be honest, it can also bring stress, especially as you juggle work deadlines, family commitments and gift shopping! 🎁 Let’s change that narrative this year. Here’s how you can spread cheer in the workplace and at home. In the workplace: ✨ Encourage kindness and gratitude: a simple thank you or acknowledgment of a colleague’s effort goes a long way. ✨ Create space for mental wellbeing: check in on your team and make sure workloads are balanced. ✨ Embrace flexibility: allow time for family or holiday errands - it builds trust and goodwill. At home: ✨ Focus on presence over presents: quality time with loved ones is more valuable than the perfect gift. ✨ Set boundaries to avoid burnout: it’s okay to say no to one more event or obligation. ✨ Celebrate small moments: like baking mince pies or watching your favourite holiday movie together. Remember, cheer is contagious. A little kindness and empathy can ripple out, making this season brighter for everyone around you. 🌟 💬 How do you plan to spread cheer this season? Share your tips in the comments! #Leadership #WorkplaceWellness #HolidaySeason #MentalHealth #KindnessMatters
