Brian Burnham, PhD, FGS, will be presenting on the quantitative analysis of small-scale digital outcrops today, 18th December, at 13:45 during this year’s #BSRG conference. 🎙️ You can also catch us at TSG in January!
I had an awesome time at the #BSRG pre-conference field trip where we visited some great shallow marine outcrops! We got to see everything from classic cross bedding relationships to fractures - all that are important for characterising these rocks as potential aquifers in the subsurface! I took plenty of pictures to build some #3D #outcrop #models so I can revisit them again - virtually in #VRGS by VRGeoscience Limited!

🌄 Happy International Mountain Day 2024! Today, we celebrate the awe-inspiring presence of mountains in our world with a digital elevation data fly-through of the beautiful Yr Wyddfw in the Eryri National Park, Wales. Here’s to cherishing our mountains, safeguarding their ecological integrity, and embracing the power of data-driven insights to ensure their longevity. 🌍💚 The data is visualised in #VRGS, and the video created using the built-in movie maker. The data comes from the DataMapWales services. A link to the data source is in the comments below.
