On Monday evening, we held the annual Walpole British Luxury Awards 2024 at The Dorchester in London's Mayfair. As Walpole CEO, Helen Brocklebank, said in her opening speech, "Who was it said, "Appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes excellence in others appear to belong to us too." ... And when you show your appreciation for those picking up an Award this evening, it does belong to you too because their individual excellence says something profound and wonderful about the whole collective endeavour of British luxury." It was inspiring to hear so many of the Award winners thanking their peers for their support and encouragement: we always say at Walpole 'no one succeeds alone' and it seemed especially true on Monday night. Whilst the Awards celebrate the achievements of British luxury brands over the last year, it is also an evening of appreciation for the continual warmth, enthusiasm and community within the sector – now and always. Here's to all the wonderful people who make luxury shine. 🥂
