We had an incredible evening at the Townhouse for this month’s Dinner with a CEO, featuring Jonathan Goldstein, CEO and Co-Founder of Cain International. Over dinner, Jonathan shared invaluable insights from his decorated career in financial leadership with AllBright CEO Viviane Paxinos. Some key leadership lessons from the night included: ➡️ Risk hostility: If you believe your opinion is true and grounded in facts, don’t hesitate to express it. ➡️ A problem shared is a problem halved: Mistakes are best managed by owning up to them early. ➡️ Deal with the right people: "You cannot have a good deal with a bad person." Morality, honesty, and trust are the ultimate traits to look for. ➡️ Back yourself: If you don’t push forward, others will—confidence in your abilities is key. Jonathan’s candid advice resonated with everyone in the room, reminding us that leadership is about integrity, self-belief, and taking calculated risks. Thank you to all those who attended!

Female founders in the UK are set to benefit from a significant boost with the launch of a new £250 million investment fund designed to bridge the gender funding gap. The initiative has secured support from major financial institutions, including Barclays and Aviva, who have pledged to back this transformative effort. Debbie Wosskow, OBE, Co-Chair of the Invest in Women Taskforce and Co-Founder of AllBright, said: “Female entrepreneurs and investors have been sidelined for too long – they are two sides of the same coin. It’s time we rebooted the system and gave female investors the power to drive change.” Hannah Bernard OBE, Head of Business Banking at Barclays and Co-Chair of the Invest in Women Taskforce also adds that "Studies show that female-led businesses generate 35% higher returns than male-led businesses.” Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/ecT3sgxZ

At last week's "What is an Investment Strategy?" breakfast workshop in partnership with award-winning wealth managers Killik & Co. our attendees connected with like-minded women investors and gained valuable insights into planning their investment strategies. Led by Killik & Co investment experts Rachel Winter and Lucy Smith - Chartered MCSI, the session covered key investment terms, the difference between shares and bonds, along with portfolio case studies. Here are some of the highlights from the session: 💥 You don't need a lot of money to start investing! This is a common myth, but a little can go a long way with the magic of compound interest, which grows your money over time.    💥 Only 1 in 3 women feel confident in investing, compared to over half of men. Women traditionally also take less risk than men when investing. 💥 Killik & Co recommend the 'Three Pot Plan': Setting up separate pots for 'rainy day savings,' 'forseeable calls on capital' and 'lifetime savings' will help you to finance your present and your future.* *Please do remember that as with all investments, your capital is at risk. Past performance is not an indication of future performance. Explore our upcoming events here: https://lnkd.in/d7EC2qT?

According to a 2023 global survey, 56.8% of the world's population is introverted. Though they may be a majority, navigating the business world – let alone running your own business – is more difficult for introverts, simply due to the norms and expectations deeply instilled into day-to-day working life, and the energy and stimulation levels required. Our latest article for The AllBright Post explores: 🖋️ How the business world is set up for extroverts, including networking and constant interaction with clients and teams 🖋️ Ways introverts can use automation and boundaries around meetings to conserve energy 🖋️ Employers catering to different working styles can benefit all employees Read here: https://lnkd.in/ebvmxU6U

At AllBright, fostering a more equitable workplace for all remains at the core of our mission. Last week, we hosted The 2024 Outlook: Fostering Social Fairness at the Townhouse. This inspiring event, led by AllBright CEO Viviane Paxinos Paxinos, featured expert insights from: 🎤 Alex Head, CEO and Founder of Social Pantry 🎤 Jason Arthur, CEO of Mission 44 🎤 Jane Millichip, CEO of BAFTA The discussion shed light on critical strategies to promote inclusivity, provide access for underrepresented groups, and drive growth in today’s workplace: 1️⃣ Corporate responsibility to inspire change: Businesses must go beyond box-ticking exercises and lead with actionable, measurable commitments to DEI. Leadership must champion these efforts, ensuring inclusion is embedded into company culture, not siloed within HR. 2️⃣ Rethinking education: From addressing disparities in school exclusions to creating more equitable access to career opportunities, systemic change is essential to open doors for all. 3️⃣ Talent: Fair hiring practices—such as eliminating unpaid internships and covering travel costs—are crucial. Businesses must also address mid-career slumps by creating clear pathways to leadership for underrepresented groups. 4️⃣ Thinking long-term: Diverse perspectives not only enrich teams but also deliver measurable business results. Socioeconomic diversity remains a challenging but vital aspect of building fair and thriving organisations. This event reminded us that success looks different for everyone. Feeling like you’ve lost your career direction, or just a bit stuck where you are on the career ladder? 🪜 You might be dealing with a “sticky floor” in your workplace. As the modern workplace develops and changes, so do the ways in which a “sticky floor” might hold women back at work. Now, they might be stuck in such a role because of the flexibility and hybrid working opportunities it might offer, and the difficulty anticipated in finding the same “perks” in a new, perhaps more fulfilling, role.
