  • 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁: 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝗸. Walsh's Niall Hicks and Rory Martin (Senior Architect from Architype), recently visited the newly opened Mulberry Academy London Dock to speak to students during their morning assembly. They shared insights into the design process and answered thoughtful questions about construction challenges and solutions. With Year 7 students currently designing and modelling their dream school, we hope the talk further fueled their creativity. Niall said: "𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲. London Dock's STEM Club is keen to hold workshops demonstrating how theoretical concepts translate into real-world applications. We’re excited to continue engaging with students and showing how their ideas can shape the future. 👉 Check out the case study about our work on this project: https://lnkd.in/etvutsyf, or speak to Garreth Joyce or Niall Hicks. #SocialValue #STEM #InspiringFutureGenerations

  • 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁: 𝟵𝟴𝟬 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱, 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱. We’re excited to be working with Hadley Property Group on their latest landmark development. This 5.4Ha site is formerly home to pharmaceutical giant GSK. Featuring an iconic 25-year-old steel-framed building, containing an estimated 5,000 tonnes of steel, the focus will be on 𝗿𝗲-𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 wherever possible ♻ 𝗛𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 across London, and we’re proud to support their vision. We are pleased to announce the completion of our acquisition of the former GSK House in Brentford, a significant milestone in our vision for a sustainable, mixed-use neighbourhood. Having worked closely with the London Borough of Hounslow for over a year, we are preparing a planning application for submission in the second half of 2025. The proposed development will include a diverse range of new homes, commercial spaces and essential community amenities, alongside enhanced access to the adjacent park and river – areas that have been underused for over 20 years. Our design partners, Haworth TompkinsStudio Egret West, dRMM, Buro Happold, Metropolitan Workshop LLP, Walsh - Structural, Civil & Geotechnical Engineers, Turley and McGregor Coxall, are already developing a masterplan focused on long-term value, sustainability and inclusivity for the local community and future residents. Andy Portlock, Hadley CEO, said: “The acquisition of 980 Great West Road is a landmark opportunity for Hadley, Brentford, and the Borough of Hounslow. For many years, the site has been a key marker for those travelling in and out of West London, yet it hasn’t connected with the local community. Reimagining it is a responsibility we take very seriously. We are committed to delivering on our sustainability pledges and our vision to deliver genuine community-led regeneration across London. It’s an exciting time to embark on a project of this scale. The recent alignment of new homes strategy between local, city-wide, and national government provides a rare opportunity for a collaborative design and planning process which can help provide the affordable homes that London needs, at a critical time for the city.” We look forward to sharing the emerging masterplan in early 2025. • 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲: Giving back to our community is important to us and recently, we've had the privilege of supporting two incredible initiatives that make a real impact. 🧥We were proud to deliver our final batch of pre-loved coats to Wrap Up London, a fantastic charity that has already collected over 6,000 coats this year for those in need. 🍴We also joined forces with our neighbours at The Folio Society Ltd to support their building-wide food donation drive for Pecan, a vital #SouthwarkFoodBank. They've collected an impressive 50 boxes of food to support families and individuals in our local community. These charities are doing incredible work, and we encourage you to explore how you can support them too. We'd love to hear of any other community initiatives out there that we should support, we're always inspired by new ways to make a positive impact! #SocialValue #CommunitySupport #GivingBack

The frame is now over halfway up the tower, reaching level 18, with the first unitised façade panels being installed. At level 18, the hybrid slab – formed using precast planks with lattice girders – offered spectacular 360-degree views of the city.
