Seagate Homes were very pleased to have eventually received the planning inspectorates decision to allow this residential scheme, on the edge of the popular historic Lincolnshire market town of Long Sutton. The delivery of the scheme of 48 houses was sadly and arguably unnecessarily delayed due to an unexpected planning refusal. Seagate Homes’ technical department had worked on a previous refusal and sought to address the concerns bourn, though it transpired that the views of planners were different to those of our experienced planning team. These circumstances are always difficult times, and a matter of opinion versus planning policy / guidance sometimes becomes a contentious and tough hurdle to overcome, though we strive to maintain a professional attitude in these frustrating situations. Seagate Homes have taken the decision to begin work on the detailed drawings for the scheme of 48 houses, although the planning inspector has also supported the scheme of 56 units that was initially refused! We have committed to provide all S106 contribution requests, consisting of £31,680 towards NHS and £178,521 towards local Education, along with a 25% policy compliant provision of affordable dwellings, inclusive of the ‘First Homes’ tenure. We look forward to construction commencing in 2025. Last year, Scheduled Ancient Monument Pleasley Pit secured a grant from Biffa Award to allow vital restoration work on the iconic Chimney and South Heapstead building. The grant also funded a range of interpretation works to support the mining museum and Visitor Centre.   The historic colliery, which is 150 years old, is managed by the Land Trust in partnership with managing partners William Saunders, the Pleasley Pit Trust, and staff. Over the years, the dedicated team has worked tirelessly to preserve and restore the site for visitors to enjoy. The grant has provided a welcome opportunity to continue preserving it for future generations.   The interpretation works created by The Creative Core, were recently completed and installed. The new displays and content allow visitors to further engage with the site's history and learn about the local community, helping to bring the colliery to life.   PA Turton Builders have now completed the chimney works, with the team repointing 1,200 bricks and completing other essential restoration works, allowing the chimney to stand for many more years to come. Further restoration works are continuing on the South Heapstead building which houses part of the museum tour. More updates to follow in the coming months. #restoration #BiffaAward #scheduledancientmonument #newsignage #communityengagement

🎀 Grand Opening of William Carter Close, Alfreton! 🎀 We recently handed over 34 brand-new homes to our valued client, Nottingham Community Housing Association, at the beautiful William Carter Close in the heart of #Alfreton! This stunning development features a mixture of stylish flats and houses, named in honour of Alfreton’s very own #WilliamCarter, who left Colliery Road to build the iconic William Carter Company in America, now known as Carter's. Special thanks to John & Martyn from the Alfreton & District Heritage Trust for naming this development and joining us for the open day celebration! These homes bring much-needed #SocialHousing to the #Derbyshire community. We’re incredibly proud of the entire team for their hard work, and exceptional performance!  From our seasoned veterans at GEDA who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, to members of the team who began their journey with us as placement students and apprentices. Each of you are a credit to GEDA, congratulations on a job well done! 🌟 Finally, we would like to thank our project partners: Pelham William Saunders #DerbyshireLife #Community #Heritage #DesignandBuild #ConstructionCareers 🏡 Homes England

Our Midlands teams are attending the Constructing Excellence Midlands awards tonight with two SCAPE-procured projects shortlisted for the Integration & Collaborative Working awards! The first project up for the award is the delivery of Millside Spencer Academy, an exciting new school that was designed by Arc Partnership. Our sister company Overbury and client project manager, Pick Everard, have also had Nottingham Central Library shortlisted, having procured the project though our position on the SCAPE National Construction framework. The award category looks to recognise projects that have overcome challenges, managed risks and delivered better outcomes through the engagement of clients, contractors and the supply chain. The fact both projects were procured via SCAPE highlights the collaborative nature of the framework. Congratulations to both teams for getting this far, and fingers crossed for this evening! 🤞 #TeamSCAPE #Awards #Shortlisted #Collaboration
