Welcome to Williams Racing, competing in Formula One since 1977. #WeAreWilliams
About us
Williams is one of the world’s leading Formula One teams. It exists purely to race in the top echelon of motor racing, where it’s been winning grands prix for more than three decades. The Williams name has been synonymous with top-level motorsport since the 1960s. After running teams on the sport’s nursery slopes, team patron Frank Williams founded Frank Williams (Racing Cars) in 1966 and he entered F1 in 1969 with his friend Piers Courage behind the wheel. Frank quickly earned a reputation as one of the industry’s more determined individuals and after selling his controlling interest in his original team, he established Williams Grand Prix Engineering with British engineer Patrick Head in 1977. They built their first car, the FW06, the following year and the team immediately went from strength-to-strength. Williams is now the third most successful team on the grid.

Following Franco's pit lane start, he climbed the field to finish P14 in his first Las Vegas Grand Prix. A devastating end to Alex's race after fighting his way through the field into the points, before forced to retire the car after a suspected PU related issue. Two races left (and a sprint), three chances to score points. Let’s finish the season strong, team. #DrivenByMyprotein Myprotein

Team statement – Franco to race in Las Vegas Following Franco’s incident in Qualifying yesterday, he has undergone a thorough follow-up evaluation from the event medical team today and has been cleared to race in this evening’s Las Vegas Grand Prix. Franco’s health is our main priority, and we are relieved that he is well enough to race following such a significant incident. We thank the medical staff for prioritising Franco’s health and wellbeing and for the excellent care he received. We are extremely thankful to our incredible garage team for their hard work overnight to repair Franco’s car and our fans and partners for their continued support. We have taken the opportunity to make some set-up changes during the repair and, as a result, Franco will start the race from the pitlane. We are looking forward to going racing under the lights tonight.

Williams Racing and The Duracell Company are thrilled to announce a multi-year extension to their powerful Formula 1 partnership on the eve of the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The Duracell airbox will continue into 2025 when the FW47 will be driven by Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz – one of the most formidable driver line-ups on the grid. Rounding out the week with the amazing news that our pioneering Lap of Legends partnership with Michelob ULTRA has scooped another haul of major awards. Fresh from winning two Golds and two Silvers at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in June, and being honoured an amazing 11 times at the LIA - London International Awards, we have picked up 17 Clio Sports awards from The Clios AND the Content in Sports award from The Drum. Lap of Legends was a groundbreaking television special which used cutting-edge artificial intelligence and augmented reality technology to stage the world’s first real vs virtual Formula 1 race between drivers from past and present. It took a huge team of creative and innovative people at Williams and Michelob ULTRA to bring it to life. More than 720 races involving 1,260 hours of footage was analysed so avatars of stars like Nigel Mansell and Alain Prost would race like the real thing. Unique AR technology then allowed Williams driver Logan Sargeant to race the legends in a real car around Silverstone. It exemplifies our commitment to bringing innovation to our partnerships and pushing the boundaries of fan engagement in motorsport.
