Everyday billions of animals are experiencing unbearable cruelty. We tackle the root causes of their suffering so that we make the biggest difference to their lives.

It's TUI's AGM this morning. TUI, your own animal welfare policy states that you don't support venues that breed, but even your own chatbots call you out as liars. AI has more integrity than you. #NoTanksTUIWorld Animal Protection UKKatheryn Wise

Incredible work by our team in Brazil - well done Proteção Animal Mundial!
Translation of their post below:
HISTORIC VICTORY!
The Chamber of Deputies approved today Bill 2950/2019, authored by Senator Wellington Fagundes (PL-MT), which establishes general rules for the protection of animals in disaster situations.
The bill, which returned to the Federal Senate in the last vote, represents a historic milestone for animal protection in Brazil, being the first to specifically address the rescue and care of animals in emergency situations.
Natália Sant'Anna de Figueiredo, our Public Policy Manager, declares that the approval of this project is a big step for civil society.
"For the first time, we have legislation that not only recognizes the fundamental role of animal protection organizations, but also establishes clear responsibilities for states, municipalities and companies in the care of fauna, traditionally made invisible in disaster situations. With the approval in the Chamber, we are closer to transforming this protection into law", highlights Natália.

Exploitation of a tiger to the point that his eyes had to be removed as a result of tourist camera flashes. Yet another example of how we commidify wild animals for our own selfish wants.
Katheryn Wise, Wildlife Campaign Manager, World Animal Protection:
"Tigers are wild animals and should never be used as photo props or for entertainment. The effects of Firmin’s life as a show animal in Spain are heartbreaking and have resulted in him losing his eyes.
"Around the world, thousands of animals are bred in captivity in horrific conditions and used for tourist entertainment. Avoid any venue or event that allows you to touch, ride, wash or have a photoshoot with a wild animal."

People power prevails with a win over Factory Farming! 👏
World Animal Protection Sverige has announced that JBS - the world’s largest meat processor and the embodiment of factory farming’s worst practices - has lost 99% of investments from Swedish banks.
This wasn’t accidental.
Thousands of Swedish bank customers demanded their money not fuel animal cruelty and environmental devastation.
Our 2023 report exposed the truth:
JBS is driving deforestation, pumping out massive climate emissions,
and upholding the cruel factory farming model.
Now, 25 investors have blacklisted JBS.
This is people power in action - proof that ethical investing can change the system.
Which country will be next to cut their ties?

Traveloka actively sells and promotes elephant riding, breakfast with orangutans, swimming with dolphins, etc. - do any of these sound sustainable to you? Absolutely not - Traveloka and Caesar Indra are #greenwashing tourists and TNGlobal with this fluff PR. No company can talk about being a responsible or a sustainable company without and animal welfare policy that protects instead of exploits captive wild animals. Want to see animals on holiday? See them in the wild or at a genuine sanctuary.

More good news to end the year.
Dreamworld, one of Australia’s largest theme parks, has officially ended all direct human-tiger interactions.
From tiger shows to koala cuddles, this move reflects a growing trend of consumers rejecting outdated and harmful wildlife attractions.
The travel industry must adapt to meet the expectations of today’s conscious travellers. Those that fail to embrace cruelty-free, sustainable tourism will be left behind as the demand for ethical experiences continues to rise.
Through 2025, World Animal Protection will continue to expose this cruelty, advocate for breeding bans, and shift public demand towards responsible wildlife tourism.
Advocacy works – congratulations, World Animal Protection Australia!
