Ahead of CHIME’s annual Fall Forum in San Diego, the UK and Irish delegation of Florence Nightingale Foundation digital scholars made a visit to Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego to meet with digital health leaders using tech to allow nurses to work at the top of their licence. It was such a privilege to visit Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego yesterday morning with a group of CNIOs and Senior Digital Nurses and #FNFScholars from the UK in advance of the #CHIME24FallForum this week. It was fascinating to hear the transformation journey of such a digitally mature healthcare provider, and to see how the teams are tackling familiar challenges such as training, adoption, end user design and digital exclusion. Despite working 5000 miles apart, in very different health systems, we discovered so much shared experience and understanding, and left feeling inspired and also reassured that the vision we have and the plans we are making are going to bring real benefits for our patients, population and colleagues. CHIME International was in Sharjah, UAE to deliver unit two of its three-month education programme for Emirates Health Services. Over four days we met and taught 80 digital health leaders from across the Northern Emirates who joined us in two cohorts: Intermediate and Advanced. What an absolute pleasure it was to work with such committed and thoughtful people. The curriculum took the best of CHIME education, taught by me, Diarmaid and Harpreet and blended it with a local and organisational focus, taught by Zeina, Ahmad and Christian. The days sped by as we covered leading change, building teams, the clinical imperative for digital health, the role of the CIO, communications, cyber security, user centred design and the future of healthcare. I truly hope we will be back in the GCC region soon to work with many more digital health leaders. We're excited to start working with the Advanced cohort of learners on this CHIME education programme in collaboration with EHS, which was kicked off by Jane Dwelly MBCS this morning. CHIME President and CEO Russ Branzell welcomed learners to the education programme virtually, followed by teaching from Zeina Khouri-Stevens, RN PhD and Dr Harpreet Sood. We have loved hearing insights and perspectives from all the learners in response to the presentations.
