The Sixth Circuit has upheld the rare dismissal of a ‘right of publicity’ class action, marking the first substantive decision from a federal appeals court in the wave of right-of-publicity suits against internet companies. The Sixth Circuit’s ruling, which was handed down on Monday (13 January), is something of a rarity as it is one of very few defendant-friendly decisions relating to the issue of right of publicity.
