Power and Energy Research - The University of Manchester reposted this
It was great to do this. Seeing the amazed faces of the children as they enter the HV lab never stops being good to watch. Let’s hope we’ve inspired some into science and engineering!
The last two days of this week saw lots of teacher development and pupil learning in our SEERIH Sustainable Science Masterclass, delivered in the Makerspace. Highlights include: 🙌 Hands-on, practical science activities looking at air and water resistance 👩🏫 Teacher CPD session on research using secondary sources ⚡️ A campus tour of The University of Manchester, including a visit to the very impressive High Voltage Lab! Thanks Ian Cotton 🌎 Pupils and teachers working together to look at data and information about energy on a global scale, with a focus on thinking about sustainability It’s been a pleasure to work with Jo Montgomery in planning this session (and Jennifer Crompton-Muir too!) and it was great to see it come to life this week. Thanks to Jo and Fran for delivering the Masterclasses, and to the rest of the SEERIH team (Nicola Fletcher, Farah, David and Kate) for such great support.
