Last week we celebrated #InternationalMensDay with a virtual panel focusing on this year’s theme of Positive Male Roles models. This insightful session was brought to us by some of the brilliant men across our People Networks. Craig Kirkham (UK Gender Equity Network Lead), Horace Francis (Black Professionals Network Chair), John Grout (LGBT+ and Friends Network Committee Member) and Raymond Benitez (Multicultural Inclusion Network Lead) shared their different perspectives on the way positive roles models shape our communities. The panel shared their own personal role models, the barriers men continue to face and what we can do to keep driving forward. Hearing their personal stories, experiences and actionable insights really brought the conversation to life, and highlighted the importance of opening up, empathy and being the role models you want to see in the world. Craig Kirkham said, "International Men's Day is a vital reminder of the importance of supporting men and fostering positive male role models, not just on this day, but every day. Today is Trans Day of Remembrance, an important day to remember trans folks we have lose due to anti-trans violence. To mark the day at Vodafone we are hosting a panel discussion with some members of the trans community and two parents of trans kids. The conversation will be about learning, allyship and moments that give us hope for the future.
