Everybody loves the Samba. Or, should we say, everybody loved the Samba, until the prime minister decided that it was going to be his go-to trainer. Since then, sneakerheads have been cooling off. And while some have found an alt, others are falling for the model again thanks to the upcoming Adidas Samba OG ‘Made in Italy.’

Unveiled six months after the original ‘Core Black,’ this new version is, again, crafted by some of the OGs in Italian shoemaking. However, unlike the original ‘Core Black,’ this one comes in a nice brown colour scheme instead. Inspired by a solid pair of Derbies or Oxfords, the calfskin is meant to look – and feel – extra fancy. And while most sneakers tend to crease and warp over time, this special Samba will apparently develop a lovely patina, just like a pair of good dress shoes.

The inside of the ‘Made in Italy’ is lined with leather too (this time in a creamy shade), and “Samba” branding is debossed across the lateral sidewall, just in case you needed a reminder. All of this then rests on top of a grippy gum rubber outsole, and it's packed in a limited edition shoebox which comes with an exclusive travel dustbag.

And this isn't the first time this year that an old school silhouette's been given an ultra premium makeover. Back in March, the Air Jordan 1 got the same treatment with the ‘Wings’ collection, and even though they cost around £800 a pop, they sold out real fast.

Thankfully, the Adidas Samba OG ‘Made in Italy’ will only set you back £280. Set to release within the coming weeks, it'll be available at Adidas and select stockists around the globe.
