Utah is a powerhouse for critical minerals, with access to 40 of the 50 minerals designated as "critical" by the U.S. government. This makes the state a key contributor to the essential resources underpinning the nation’s economic and national security. Last week, we hosted an incredible Critical Ventures Summit. Together with 47G, Utah Mining Association, Critical Minerals Institute (CMI), and Park City Angels, we explored groundbreaking advancements, the expanding global demand for critical minerals, and their pivotal role in enhancing national resilience and security. ✨ Key Highlights: ✔️Melissa Barbanell (World Resources Institute) spotlighted the surging demand for critical minerals on a global scale. ✔️Evan Granite (DOE) underscored why these materials are a national imperative for innovation and security. ✔️Andrew Rupke shed light on Utah's unique position and potential in this vital industry. ✔️A thought-provoking Fireside Chat with Jack Lifton offered invaluable perspectives on navigating the critical minerals landscape. The afternoon sessions were just as impactful, with a showcase of innovative leaders and companies shaping the critical materials industry: NexGen Materials – Mike Riley, Founder and CEO Nevada Organic Phosphate – Robin Dow, Chairman and CEO GreenTech Metals (ASX:GRE) – Basil Botha, President and CEO GlycoSurf, Inc. – Chett Boxley, CEO Scandium Canada Ltd. – Guy Bourassa, CEO Lilac Solutions – Matthew Ganser, SVP, Sales & Government Affairs It was inspiring to see innovators, investors, and industry leaders come together to discuss actionable steps toward a more sustainable, secure, and resilient future. To everyone who attended, shared insights, or contributed—thank you for making this event such a success. 🚀 Let’s keep the momentum going, save the date for our next Strategic Materials Summit in March. https://lu.ma/7yh4atu5 #CriticalMaterials #Innovation #Sustainability #Utah #NationalSecurity Guy Letendre, Ian R., Jeff Edwards
