  • Where excellence becomes a norm, achievements become routine.    Abluva’s Advanced Research Lab achieves another milestone. The paper written by team and titled, ‘Blender-Gan: Multi-Target Conditional Generative Adversarial Network for Novel Class Synthetic Data Generation' has been peer reviewed and selected for presentation by IEEE during their SmartNets Conference in May 2024. The paper will also be published on IEEE Explore. The feedback received on the paper is very encouraging. A review feedback comment received says: “Novel results on a subject well investigated”.  Another reviewer noted that,  “The three phases of the followed methodology are well presented, and extensive experiments are performed while considering different intrusion detection datasets to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.” Yet another reviewer commented, “Extensive experiments are carried out to show the capabilities of the proposed model in generating synthetic data and supporting label classes mixing. Obtained results are promising.“ Here is the short abstract of the paper. We propose Blender-GAN, a generative adversarial network, that takes multiple class labels and their respective proportions to generate a novel output that represents all input classes in the input proportions. Unlike traditional GANs two discriminators are used, one traditional Real/Fake classifier and another to control the class of generated data. During the new data generation phase, multiple classes are blended in defined proportions which creates new data with characteristics of the classes in the specified ratio. The proposed architecture was implemented for generating synthetic network intrusion data, using various proportions of different known attack classes. The Blender- GAN output generated new attack classes, which resembled realistic network data. We will share the link to full paper once it is published by IEEE. Watch this space to know more about our achievements. #Intrusiondetection, #artificialintelligence, #Machinelearning, #Syntheticdata, #Abluva #AbluvaInc.

  • Honeypot: A honeypot serves as a deceptive mechanism designed to lure and divert attackers away from genuine production systems. Operating as a trap or decoy, a honeypot mimics a legitimate system in appearance and functionality. It is strategically placed where unauthorised entities are likely to encounter it while seeking potential attack vectors. Every industry operates with its own specialised terminology, and cybersecurity is no exception. Here are a few more that show the intricacies of data security. Data Redaction: Data redaction shields sensitive information by obscuring it in physical or electronic documents. Frequently employed in legal contexts, it enables the sharing of relevant content while safeguarding personally identifiable data, intellectual property, or other confidential details. Redaction methods vary from physical blackouts to digital tools that blur or distort data, ensuring the protection of sensitive information. Least Privilege: Least Privilege is a security principle that grants users only the minimum access permissions necessary to perform their job duties. This approach minimizes potential damage resulting from unauthorised access. Eager to learn more about the cybersecurity lexicon?
