As we celebrate this month of thanksgiving and gratitude, we'd like to recognize our wonderful partners! With the help from law enforcement, our medical partners, Child Protective Investigations, and the District Attorney's office, we're able to continue putting our clients' needs first and better protect Tarrant County child abuse victims. We are always thankful for their hard work and dedication to our mission. 🫶

As we celebrate this month of thanksgiving and gratitude, we'd like to recognize our amazing staff members! Every one of them brings a special skill and strength to the table that helps us best serve our kids and families: forensic interviewing, clinical therapy, family advocacy, Multidisciplinary team coordination, administration, or development. We're thankful for ALL of their hard work, helping one Tarrant County child at a time. 🫶

We had an amazing day at the Crowley Walmart collecting toys for our annual Christmas Connection pop-up store! With the help of our staff and Detective White - Crowley PD - we spread holiday joy that will go straight into our sleigh for Tarrant County kiddos. Thank you to ALL of our supporters who came out and donated toys to make this holiday season merry and bright for our kids! Special thanks to Josh Hanna at State Farm Insurance, Crowley Tire and Auto Shop, Crowley Citizens on Patrol, and Shiro Family Martial Arts who went above and beyond! 🎄🎁✨

Our team recognized Home Zone Furniture as an Outstanding Community Partner for 2024 for their dedication and contributions to our Room Makeover Program! Investigations often reveal that child abuse victims have been traumatized in their current residence. Many times, families do not have the luxury of moving to another home or lack the means to do so – the result could be a triggering of trauma each time that child enters his or her own space. Our Room Makeover Program is designed to remove bad memories/triggers and transform a child’s space into a calming, personalized environment where they can feel safe and comfortable to be themselves. In the last year, Alliance For Children provided Room Makeovers for 23 Tarrant County children and teens who experienced trauma and abuse in their rooms – without the support of in-kind donations from our community partners, this would not have been possible! Thank you to the amazing Home Zone Furniture team for believing in our work and supporting the Tarrant County families we serve!

Last week, Family Advocates - Sergio Gonzalez, Anna Drewett, and Ayda Torres - attended the "In Her Shoes" event hosted by Grapevine PD Victim Assistance Unit. This was an educational and interactive experience where they learned several barriers on “why they (domestic violence victims) don’t just leave?” They went through several scenarios and had to make hard decisions along the way just like real victims do. Our staff consistently pursue eye-opening and educational opportunities to broaden their views and find new ways to help support our clients. 💜🫶

We are thrilled to receive a grant from the Rotary Club of Arlington – Texas, resulting from their wildly successful inaugural “Dancing with the Arlington Stars” charity fundraiser! This grant will be utilized to fulfill short-term emergency needs for Arlington victims of child abuse and their protective caregivers through our Family Advocate Program at our Arlington center. Through this program, Alliance For Children provides support and necessary, tangible items to families who need help maintaining the well-being and safety of children in their care including car seats, cribs, and beds; basic needs such as clothing, diapers, and formula; or short-term emergency assistance with groceries, gas, or rent to help families get their feet on the ground.
