On January 9th, Teresa Carden, Apryl Mullins, Emily Kaplowitz, and Leah Blair led a group of engineering students on the inaugural Engineering Industry Trek: Birmingham Edition, sponsored by Auburn University 100+ Women Strong. This program gives freshman, sophomore, and junior-level students an inside look at 100+ Women Strong Corporate Sponsors through a day-long visit to Birmingham, AL. Students divided into groups and toured and met with representatives from two of the four participating companies: Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC, Trane, AMERICAN Cast Iron Pipe Company, and Alabama Power Company. Representatives from these companies and Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, LLC joined the group for a networking lunch. Thanks to all the participating company representatives for helping Auburn University, Samuel Ginn College of Engineering students connect with real-world engineering, and thanks to 100+ Women Strong for partnering with CDCR to make this happen!

AMERICAN has acquired C&B Piping, Inc., a manufacturer and supplier of ductile iron and steel piping systems headquartered in Leeds, Alabama. C&B specializes in pipe fabrication, linings and coatings of ductile iron and steel products. https://lnkd.in/eWpj6VsB

Congratulations to AMERICAN's Alyssa DeFreese and Crystal Sorrelle on being selected for @MomentumAL Upward Class 7! The nine-month program is designed to hone participants' leadership skills, strengthen their career paths and help them navigate the unique challenges women face in the workplace. In the spirit of giving and to help seniors in our neighborhoods stay warm during the holidays, employees held a coat and blanket drive. New coats, blankets, toboggans, gloves and socks were collected and given to our North Birmingham neighbors. #BeABlessing

AMERICAN and Specification Rubber Products, Inc. were proud to once again sponsor Wreaths Across America to remember the legacy of our veterans, and honor their sacrifice for our country and their contributions to our communities. With the help of hundreds of volunteers, a live balsam wreath was placed on every veteran's grave at the Alabama National Cemetery for Christmas.

The City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and McClelland Consulting Engineers, Inc. joined Garney’s Fayetteville West Transmission Main CMAR team for a tour of the AMERICAN SpiralWeld Pipe Company (ASWP) facility in Paris, Texas, as it prepared to roll 60,000 linear feet of pipe for the project. The team also visited the Upper Trinity Regional Water District's Lake Ralph Hall project and Segment 60, followed by an informative Q&A session with the project team. Special thanks to ASWP and Garney's Lake Ralph Hall teams for hosting!

Last week, we welcomed the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, McClelland Consulting Engineers, Inc. and Garney Construction for a visit to our Paris, TX AMERICAN SpiralWeld Pipe facility. Proud to partner with them to deliver about 69,000 feet of 48-inch pipe for Fayetteville’s Western Corridor Water Transmission Main project. The group also visited the Lake Ralph Hall project and had a great Q&A session with the project team there. #waterinfrastructure #deliveringourmostvaluableresource
