America’s can-do spirit has always been a force for progress — whether in protecting our environment or producing history-changing technology. We’re reminded of this by two anniversaries this week. Yesterday, December 16th, was the 50th anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act being signed into law. This landmark achievement was the result of bold vision and bipartisan leadership — paved in part by President Nixon’s 1970 message to Congress: “We…have too casually and too long abused our natural environment. The time has come when we can wait no longer.” And today is another anniversary. On December 17, 1903, Orville and Wilbur Wright took flight for the first time in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. What began as the dream of two mechanics, redefined what was possible for technology. These anniversaries remind us of what is possible when vision and dreams meet implementation.
About us
In 2017, Anbaric and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP), Canada's largest single-profession pension plan, formed Anbaric Development Partners to develop clean energy infrastructure projects in North America. With a focus on transmission, specifically in the offshore wind industry, and distributed energy, Anbaric’s mission is to create and build the electric businesses of the future. Anbaric produces new entities that transform old energy systems into more effective and resilient ones with an emphasis on clean energy. Anbaric is committed to early stage and brownfield developments which are projected to produce $2 billion in fully constructed assets. Anbaric has helped spearhead completion of two 660 MW high-voltage, direct current (HVDC) projects - Neptune Regional Transmission System and Hudson Transmission Project. These underground and underwater electricity transmission lines were completed on time and on budget. For additional information on Anbaric visit: www.anbaric.com

Anbaric has had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Arne Jacobson at the Transmission Infrastructure West conference in San Francisco, CA. He is the director of the Schatz Energy Research Center (SERC) at Cal Poly Humboldt, and his team at SERC is leading the way in sustainable energy, from renewables to hydrogen technologies, while fostering education and partnerships. He shared valuable insights on California’s offshore wind challenges, including HVDC routing and coalition efforts. Collaboration is key to driving a clean energy future. As California leads the way in offshore wind innovation, partnerships like those SERC envisions—with utilities, developers, and organizations like Anbaric—are crucial. A bold, forward-thinking transmission strategy isn’t just vital for California—it’s a blueprint for the nation. We’re proud to be part of shaping the future of energy.

Many in Massachusetts have long lamented our slow, substandard permitting procedures. That's ended. Yesterday, Gov. Healey signed a important bill that offers comprehensive, one-stop permitting, helping communities, labor, and developers accelerate the transition to a low carbon economy, protect the environment, and create jobs. Kudos to Secretary Tepper and everyone involved. Good news to lead into the weekend!
Today, Governor Healey signed a landmark climate bill to accelerate our clean energy transition, create jobs, and lower energy costs for Massachusetts residents. This is a bold step toward meeting our climate goals.

Impressed by the discussions at the @New England-Canada Business Council's Executive Energy Conference in Boston this week. I had the privilege of speaking on "The Path Forward for Transmission of our Diverse Regional Energy Resources" panel. Its key points included the need for more @transmission linking the Maritimes, Quebec, and Ontario to New England, engaging with the states/provinces to secure regular transmission procurements, and the importance of bi-directional power flows and affordable renewable power. Congrats to the Council for a valuable event!
