This December, the Apex team provided over 50,000 meals to families in hunger through the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank—an organization that has been fighting food insecurity in the Commonwealth since 1981. It’s a landmark day for the energy transition in our home state: Apex and Google have executed a power purchase agreement for Rocky Forge Wind, Virginia’s first onshore wind farm. Representing the two companies’ second collaboration, the 79.3 MW facility will advance Google’s 2030 goal to match its electricity needs with clean energy every hour of every day. As one of few wind facilities in the PJM market, Rocky Forge demonstrates how mission-aligned organizations can navigate complex business environments to deliver transformative projects. Learn more:

Battery storage is transforming how we power the grid. 🔋 By capturing excess energy as it’s produced and deploying it when demand peaks, facilities like Cameron Storage help create more resilient and reliable energy systems. Batteries work in concert with wind and solar generation to deliver clean power exactly as it’s needed.

Prosperity Wind takes another step forward: Apex is pleased to announce the successful financing of the 300 MW facility as it progresses toward commercial operations early next year. Located in Piatt County, Illinois, Prosperity will support the power and sustainability needs of utility and corporate purchasers while generating $93 million for the surrounding community—underscoring how partnership continues to advance both clean energy deployment and local economic growth.

CEBA commends Apex Clean Energy for establishing the Consortium for Climate Solutions. This groundbreaking renewable energy aggregation engages 11 institutions, in Greater Boston and the North Shore, anchored by Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Mass General Brigham to collaborate on clean energy investments. Through the Consortium for Climate Solutions, Apex is enabling 408 MW of new wind and solar projects that will deliver 1.3 million megawatt-hours of clean electricity annually by 2026, enough to power 130,000 homes per year. The projects are expected to create about $64 million in tax revenue for communities, 750 jobs during construction, and up to $100 million in income opportunities for farmers and landowners. Break out the big scissors! ✂️ Last week, Apex headed to Bell County, Texas, to celebrate the ribbon cutting for Big Elm Solar. Joined by various project stakeholders, we toasted our first-ever agrovoltaic facility as around four hundred sheep grazed away on another part of the property. A special thank you to the landowners and the Bell County Board of Commissioners for their continued support of this project.
