We’re excited to announce that Archive has joined ACT (American Circular Textiles) in our commitment to creating a circular future for the retail and fashion industries. ACT unites over 30 U.S. companies focused on resale, rental, repair, and recycling, working together to promote sustainable textile practices. One of our first actions in this partnership is to address an important issue: the U.S. tax system currently double-taxing secondhand items. In many states, shoppers pay sales tax twice on the same item—once when it's first bought and again when it’s resold, including on thrifted goods and repairs. This unfair practice discourages sustainable choices, adds unnecessary costs for consumers, and affects businesses committed to circularity. Join us in making a change—sign the petition to stop secondhand clothing from being taxed twice and help make sustainable fashion more accessible to all: https://lnkd.in/ddUTXpbp #CircularEconomy #SustainableFashion #ACT

This location will feature the brand’s first-ever dedicated Renewed shop-in-shop for remade items. "I was thrilled to find the #1 thing I value in online secondhand shopping: transparency. For me, that means honest photos of the item... I also love that shopping secondhand on ReWair feels just like their regular retail site. No digging through questionable listings—Dr. Martens handles the listings and repairs themselves." Read more about this customer's journey with Dr. Martens ReWair, where loyal fans can shop iconic pieces for the fraction of the cost, all while keeping them out of landfills: https://lnkd.in/dJW_Q47j

Ratified by Governor Gavin Newsom at the end of September, California’s Responsible Textile Recovery Act of 2024 (SB 707), is paving the way for a circular textile economy. This groundbreaking law establishes the first Extended Producer Responsibility program in the U.S., requiring brands to join a PRO (producer responsibility organization) and manage the full lifecycle of their products through repair, reuse, and recycling—minimizing waste across the industry. For apparel brands with $1M+ in sales in California, Archive's offerings—including resale, repair, trade-in, and recycling— are essential for compliance; our programs also build customer loyalty, drive profitable revenue, and help brands meet growing consumer demand for eco-friendly shopping options. Our team is here to support brands as they navigate this new legislation. Reach out to learn how we partner with brands to launch and scale circular businesses: https://lnkd.in/eVB9sz3P #SB707
