In partnership with Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals (APBP) Southern California, OC YMF ASCE hosted a bike tour of the Evolution of Bike Infrastructure in Downtown Long Beach! 🚴 Planners, engineers, and students gathered to learn more about the past, present, and future of the bike infrastructure in the City on Wednesday, November 13th, 2024. ✨ A huge thank you to the City of Long Beach Department of Public Works Traffic Engineer Paul Van Dyk and Transportation Planner Ricardo Light for hosting our group for an insightful experience into the design and impact of the City's bike infrastructure projects! On Wednesday, October 30th, OC YMF ASCE hosted their first JEDI Literacy Session with the topic “The Role of Social Equity in Infrastructure.” It featured four infrastructure leaders in the Planning, Civil, Traffic, and Construction sectors from across multiple agencies and firms. 🏗️ On behalf of the ASCE OC YMF JEDI Committee, thank you so much to our industry panelists Isamar E., Rafael Cobian, Reuben Tolentino, and Tina Hanson, for sharing their experiences and providing insightful discussions about this very important topic!
