Promoting a safe, efficient, and sustainable highway system through education, innovation, and fellowship.

About us

Our mission is to provide a forum for members and partners of the highway industry to promote a safe, efficient, and sustainable highway system through education, innovation, and fellowship. American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) Southern NJ is a non-profit organization. We advance our mission by holding events where members can share ideas, network, learn and grow as a professional. Our monthly dinner meetings, golf outings, happy hours, manufacturing plant tours and more are open to ASHE Southern NJ members and non-members who work as transportation project owners, design consultants and contractors. Our section continues to take initiative to connect with college students in Southern NJ to introduce ASHE, invite them to monthly dinner meetings and connect them with seasoned professionals to provide career insights. ASHE Southern NJ encouraged and supported Rowan and Mercer County Community College students' efforts to create their own ASHE Student Chapters. ASHE Southern NJ is proud to extend scholarships to students pursuing a career in the transportation design and construction industry. Through fundraising efforts and donations, over $190,000 in scholarships has been awarded to worthy students.

  • Thank you Lindsey Klein for volunteering to speak to our student chapter at Rowan! These students look inspired!

President at Imperial Traffic & Data Collection

I had the privilege of visiting Rowan on Friday to connect with the ASHE Student Chapter. I discussed some of the tools ITDC uses in traffic engineering and each of their applications. At the end, I highlighted one of the DVRPC signal retiming projects ITDC is supporting for Iteris. My goal on these college visits is to motivate the students to get through their engineering curriculum and steer them into a career in transportation.

  • 26! 26 students from The College of New Jersey New Jersey Institute of Technology Mercer County Community College Middlesex College Camden County College and Rowan University joined our ASHE Southern New Jersey social last night. They each got 15 minutes to spend one-on-one time with our resume experts. I can't thank our resume experts enough for volunteering their time (oh man did we make them work last night!) and to our professionals for coming out and serving as great mentors to these bright future engineers! Thank you Aubrey Blackman from mcfa and Marianna Tedeschi and Andrew Cushman from French & Parrello Associates! You made our night! This is your sponsorship donations at work. We couldn't do this without our great supportive annual sponsors. Check them out on our homepage! https://lnkd.in/eCRn25fV
