At last night’s conference dinner, Nelson Lam was awarded the Charles Bubb medal in recognition of his contributions to the Society over the decades. Eric Wang was awarded the Charles Bubb scholarship, and our delegates - including our international keynote speakers Helen Crowley, Timothy Sullivan and Dave Wald (pictured with AEES President Scott Menegon) - had an enjoyable evening at Jolleys Boathouse Restaurant in Adelaide.
The second day of our conference is being kicked off with a keynote address by Timothy Sullivan. It’s great to get these valuable insights from our colleagues in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The Australian Earthquake Engineering Society is having a final call for abstract submissions to its 2024 conference, which is being held in Adelaide from 21 to 23 November. The conference theme is Building an Earthquake Resilient Future for Australia. We have three exciting international keynote speakers, which include Prof. Tim Sullivan from the University of Canterbury, Dr Helen Crowley from the Global Earthquake Model and David Wald from the United States Geological Survey. We’re still looking for a few more abstract submissions, so please get them in by the end of month, via email to admin@aees.org.au. #earthquakengineering #structuralengineering #civilengineering
