Last night on WIN News, AIHS Chair Cameron Montgomery shone a spotlight on the importance of road safety as part of our Roads Are Workplaces Too campaign. December is a critical time for transport workers and everyone who relies on our roads for work—delivery drivers, tradespeople, home care providers, and more. This holiday season, let’s all do our part: be patient, stay courteous, and share the road responsibly. #RoadsAreWorkplacesToo

As we close out 2024, I’d like to thank our members, staff, volunteers, and everyone who engaged with the Australian Institute of Health & Safety this year. Together, we’ve celebrated key milestones, including the launch of SPARK—our innovative AI knowledge assistant—and expanded advocacy efforts on critical issues such as free access to WHS standards. This year saw a standout National Health & Safety Conference, which brought together hundreds of professionals to share insights and strengthen our collective impact. We also celebrated innovation at the Australian Workplace Health & Safety Awards, showcasing excellence and leadership. From successful symposiums across the country to greater media visibility for the profession, 2024 has been a testament to what we can achieve as a community. Wishing you a safe, restful holiday season and a successful year ahead. I look forward to continuing our work together in 2025. #HealthAndSafety #WHS #AustralianInstituteofHealthandSafety #AIHS #SafetyCommunity

I had a great evening at the Australian Institute of Health & Safety ACT branch end of year catch up. I spoke to a small but engaged and experienced bunch of members on supervision standards for apprenticeship success, and it was a lot fun. The ACT branch look forward to working with our members and continuing to grow and expand on member engagement into 2025. So I embraced my inner Dr Seuss to deliver the premier of "How the Grinch Stole Psychological Safety at Christmas" for the final Australian Institute of Health & Safety WA branch sundowner of 2024.🎄😡 Despite probing questions by the audience I incredulously, vehemently and repeatedly confirmed the ramblings were all the work of my inner Dr Seuss and not 'That'GPT. ✍🏻 📜 It gave me the 'warm and fuzzies' to host, offer drinks and food whilst seeing many well known faces mingling with many new faces. 🙋🏻♂️ 🤝 Tip of the Grinch hat to John Shaddick and Andy Rankin of Sundstrom Recruitment for not even flinching when we asked for a venue. 🤗 ✨ As a certified The Fearless Organization Scan practitioner I offer a highly practical program to improve psychological safety in teams. If you are curious about improving learning, innovation and health across your team in 2025, let's chat. I won't waste your time talking in rhyme, I promise....... www.curamconsulting.au Celia Antonovsky Bradley Hobson Adam Parsons William (Bill) Byrne Ian Counsell Hiroko S. Helen Muccilli

I’m excited to share that the findings of my research have been featured in the December issue of the Australian Institute of Health & Safety's OHS Magazine. The article examines the psychosocial risks associated with implementing human-robot collaboration in the workplace - a topic of growing importance as technology continues to reshape how we work. In this piece, I explore how collaborative robots (cobots) are transforming organizational dynamics while introducing unique challenges related to mental well-being, trust and safety. The research emphasises the critical need to understand and address these psychosocial risks to ensure that human-robot collaboration not only enhances efficiency and innovation but also fosters a healthy and sustainable work environment for all employees. This work is particularly timely as organisations worldwide adopt more advanced AI-driven systems and robotics. By addressing these challenges proactively, we can create workplaces that harness the benefits of collaboration while prioritising the well-being of their most valuable asset: their people. I’m proud to contribute to this important conversation and invite you to explore the article in OHS Magazine for deeper insights. Together, let’s shape the future of work responsibly! https://lnkd.in/gY3HngHi
