BCNE joins our partner Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute in celebrating David Walt, Ph.D. and co-founder of GMGI, who recently received the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, the nation's highest honor for technological achievement, at a White House ceremony. Dr. Walt was recognized "for setting a new gold standard in genetic analysis that is transforming medical research, care, and well-being." Congratulations on this well-deserved award, Dr. Walt!

The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) team visited Northeastern University’s Biopharmaceutical Analysis Training Laboratory (BATL) back in August for a tour of labs supported with nearly $5 million in MLSC capital grants. We were excited to have Jared Auclair and his team host two Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute interns this past summer sponsored through our #InternshipChallenge, as well as two MLSC High School Apprenticeship Challenge interns from Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School and John D. O'Bryant School of Math and Science. Additionally, with grant funding through #MLSCPathmaker, Northeastern College of Professional Studies is launching a new training program in partnership with Bridgewater State University at BATL in December (https://lnkd.in/eAcCyT_c). The facility also serves as the training site for MassBioEd Foundation's Pathmaker and Apprenticeship programs and Bioprocess Group’s Pathmaker program.
