🌱 Welcoming Lucía Braga Nan, PhD. to the BIOCTANE project! Lucia brings extensive expertise in microbiology, biotechnology, and biofuel production to our team. With a PhD from INRAE Laboratoire de Biotechnologie de l'Environnement and postdoctoral experience optimizing anaerobic processes, she strengthens our mission to create sustainable aviation fuel. In BIOCTANE, Lucia contributes to Work Package 1, which covers amongst other things the eco-engineering of microbial communities to enhance propionic acid production using microbial electrolysis cells. Her work will help transform dark fermentation byproducts into valuable resources like H2 and CO2. Welcome aboard, Lucia! Together, we’re advancing toward a greener future. 🌍✈️

With a PhD from Xi’an Jiaotong University and research experience at Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg, Xujun gained a high level of expertise in hydrogen production, supercritical water gasification, and waste treatment. As a member of PSI Paul Scherrer Institut, which is actively involved in the project, Xujun is now also contributing to our shared mission.
